“So I can get the same skill from gacha multiple times, and they combine to raise the skill’s level. Now that I think about it, some high level players have their skills set to public, and I’ve seen those levels there.”

I’m facing the capsule toy machine, and I read what’s written on it again.

‘Spend your levels to get wonderful prizes!’

‘One roll gets you an R rank or higher prize.’

‘Ten rolls guarantees at least one SR rank prize.’

‘70/100 remaining.’

“…So there are seventy left? What happens if I keep rolling? Will it get more? Or is it over when they run out…? Maybe there’s a way to restock. Like if I get the gacha skill again…”

Just thinking about it makes my head hurt.

“Going through that three year hell again? Then again, it might not take three years this time. Ah, stop, stop. Let’s cross that bridge when we get there.”

I get up, turn around, and see a slime sprouting from the dungeon again. As always, its speed leads me to not be sure if it’s going to attack or not.

“Let’s just stay here until the sun sets, and hunt a hundred more.”

◇◇◇◇◇◇◇◇

“…Too easy.”

Nevermind a hundred, I hunted three hundred.

My Dexterity fell, but two stats that are important for close-range combat, Physical Strength and Agility, are pretty much the same as before I used the skill. That means that despite having fallen to level one, I hunt just as fast… No, faster than before.

The biggest difference is the Physical Strengthening Lv2 skill. Even at level one, it’s said to give a normal person the physical attributes of a top level athlete. And mine is level two.

In fact, my thoughts can’t keep up with my movements, and there were times when I almost went through slime and charged against a wall.

As a result of hunting slime like crazy, I’ve gained eight levels. And surprisingly, I also gained SP. And those fourteen SP are all going into my main stat, Luck.

“Once I hit level eleven again, I’ll roll the gacha to start from one again, and put more SP into Luck… If I keep repeating this, I just might find another rainbow slime.”

By the way, as a result of defeating three hundred slime, I found two aqua blue slime, and one green slime. Well, it happens.

“Let’s go back… Ah, but what about my report to the dungeon association? When I cash out, my level… Well, she knows me, so she probably won’t even look, but what if she does?”

I think as I leave the dungeon.

◇◇◇◇◇◇◇◇

Branch number 777 of the dungeon association.

The dungeon association is an institution that was established to deal with dungeons, and there’s one in every dungeon.

In them there are reception desks where people can sell magic stones and items they found in dungeons, and shops where they can buy weapons and items made with technologies and skills from the dungeon. And there are also training facilities and waiting rooms.

…That said, number 777 was abandoned by the world. I’m the only one who visits it, and since people see it as a place without profit, there’s only the reception desk.

It’s a mere shadow of the once popular place that it was when it was first established.

There are only two employees too.

“Ah, welcome back Shouta.”

“Thanks, Aki.”

One of them is Aki. She’s both a receptionist and does clerical work as the manager of the 777 branch.

She used to complain about being sent to the middle of nowhere at first, but now she has a nice smile on her face. She must’ve had a change of heart.

Something else that changed is that she used to wear her hair down, but after I told her she looked nice with a ponytail, she kept it. I guess she liked it.

“Eh, speaking of the slime hunter…”

“Hey Daimon, Shouta is our ace, you know?”

“Yes yes, sorry.”

This man making fun is Daimon, the guard of the 777 guild. He was on the front lines back when dungeons appeared in this world and there was a mad rush, but he retired from that after getting a serious injury, and became a guard. There’s a rule that guards have to be posted at the entrances of dungeons, because if left alone, monsters start to overflow.

That said, this is an abandoned slime only dungeon.

Even if they did overflow, they would be easy to deal with, so they only sent one guard. Not only that, but he’s not here all the time either, I only see him here about four times a week.

Well, one of the reasons for his lack of motivation is that in the three years since I started coming here, there hasn’t been a single monster break.

“Sorry to cut to the chase Aki, but can I sell these?”

“Sure. How many did you take down today?”

“About five hundred.”

I say as I place the ‘minuscule magic stones’ that are sometimes dropped by blue slime on the counter. There’s about three hundred of them.

Normally there would be way less, but after raising my Luck so much, I think it’s having an effect on the drop rate.

“Gohya… So many, as always. And so many magic stones too. I know they’re weak, but if you can defeat so many in such a short amount of time, wouldn’t you make more money if you went to another dungeon?”

“Another dungeon…”

Hearing her say that is pretty much tradition at this point. I know she’s just being polite, but I was so engrossed in getting to the end of that slime sequence, that I always said I wasn’t fit for that.

But now things have changed. I saw what looks to be the end, so now my goals are to empty that gacha stock, and take my Luck as high as I can.

But that means that defeating only slime is inefficient.

With my stats, I would probably not have trouble in other beginner level dungeons, and once I get to level eleven and roll the gacha again, I can probably aim even higher.

I still want to check the rainbow slime’s drop, but that might take years if I don’t raise my Luck more.

That means it might be good to visit dungeons I didn’t even consider all this time.

“…All right. I’ll try going to another dungeon.”

“Eh? Really!? I know I was the one who suggested it, but I figured you would say no. Did you have a change of heart?”

“Yes… Something like that.”

“I see I see. Your big sister Aki is happy for you! Yes, I’m done with the assessment. Three hundred twenty-two minuscule magic stones, valued at two hundred yen each. With the twenty percent dungeon tax included, that makes it fifty-one thousand five hundred twenty yen.

“Thank you very much.”

“Thank you for coming!”

I take the money, and chat with Aki, who looks happy for some reason.

Then we exchange contact information through the dungeon network application, and I say goodbye before heading home.
