There was a streak of red light, and Yuugo was clad in black armor.
Marcos went ahead and attacked the crab kaijin, but groaned as the hard shell of his enemy completely repelled his thrust with the sharp scissors.
“Guuh…!?”
“Kukku, did you just do something?”
Was all the crab kaijin said in return, as it attacked by swinging its own scissors. Marcos blocked with his armor, but was still blown back.
Yuugo then jumped at the kaijin, and punched it in the face with a fist infused with magic energy.
“Uoshah!”
“Bufuh!?”
The crab kaijin groaned and stumbled back, after being hit in a relatively soft spot, but seemed to not have received much damage,
Yuugo then shifted to ‘his style’ kenpo, with elbows and knees, but the spikes growing from the crab kaijin’s shell got in the way.
“Ouch!! Those pointy things are in the way!!”
“Kuhihi!! Idiot! Hitting close range attacks when you’re the one getting more damaged by your own oguuh!?”
The crab kaijin laughed mockingly as Yuugo was hurt by hitting the spikes with his arms and legs, but its body bent and it let out an anguished voice when Yuugo took advantage of that opening to strike it with a punch to the stomach.
Even as the toughness of the shell and the spikes hurt his hand, Yuugo spoke to his opponent with a low tone.
“It hurts, but who said I wasn’t gonna keep punching? You can have one or two fists of mine if you want. That’s a small price to pay compared to the lives of the children.”
“You, little…!!”
The crab kaijin foamed from the mouth after taking unexpected damage, and groaned at Yuugo with hatred.
It tried to attack, but was flung back by Marcos, who used his armor after getting back in position, and then stood ready and cautious, and turned to Yuugo.
“You’re being crazy. But at least it looks like you got some good damage in.”
“It’s still far from going down. But I know its weak point.”
“…The face?”
Asked Marcos, and Yuugo nodded.
It was where its defense provided by the shell was weakest, and it could lead to a fatal blow. It had to be there.
But surely, their enemy also knew that, and would do whatever it took to protect its face.
How would they get through that defense? The answer to that question was the key to victory.
“Can’t you do something with one of your mysterious techniques? Don’t you have something to get through that defense?”
“I do, but… I can’t do this one on my own yet…”
There was a technique to break through the crab kaijin’s defense, and deliver a powerful blow to its weak point. But Yuugo could not do minute magic energy control, so he whispered he could not do it alone. And so, Marcos responded with some bitterness in his face.
“…You can’t do it alone, but you can do it with two people?”
“Eh? Well, yes…”
“…Tell me. What do I need to do?”
They talked as they handled the attacks from the crab kaijin, pushed it back, and sometimes punched it.
Its specs as a monster armor beast were incredible in terms of defense, thanks to the hard shell, but its movements were completely amateurish.
Basically, it was an opponent that would go down easily if they could land effective blows. Marcos asked what he needed to do to make that happen. And he continued as he used his Giga Scissors to tackle the crab kaijin and send it flying back.
“It’s frustrating, but I don’t think I can’t land a fatal blow on that. I’ll let you end it. So tell me how we take that down!”
“Marcos, you…!”
“…A noble has to protect innocent citizens. And if I have to work with a hated sworn enemy, that’s what I’ll do.”
Marcos said as though he was spitting the words out, but his voice and expression showed no such unpleasant feelings, as he glared at the crab kaijin and readied his arm.
He peeked over at Yuugo, and the marks in his limbs caused by the spikes, and while annoyed, he yelled.
“Tell me already! You’re just making me angry showing off like that! Let’s take that monster armor beast down and end this already!”
“…Yes! Then let’s go with a tag-team finishing move of hated nobles!”
“Shut up with that nonsense! You two are getting in my… Uooh!?”
The crab kaijin moved to tackle them and impale them with its spikes, but Marcos kept his posture low, and managed to evade it by getting the armor of his Giga Scissors under the crab kaijin, and using its momentum to make it jump high.
It stumbled as it got up, and saw Yuugo take advantage of that opportunity to unleash a special move.
He infused his left leg with magic energy as he pushed it out and jumped, and the crab kaijin rushed to put up both arms to protect its face.
“Blaster spinning kiiiick!!”
“Nu, oh, ooh!?”
Adding the spinning movement in mid-air, Yuugo amplified the force of his attack by moving like a drill. The crab kaijin took the hit in his arms, and groaned as it felt the weight and sharpness of the attack.
However, since getting through that defense would lead to a magic energy infused blow to his biggest weak point, his face, the crab kaijin mustered up its strength to protect it.
“Nu, ooooooh!!”
It put all the strength it could into its arms, and pushed Yuugo away.
The shell in the arms cracked and broke, but it was still much better than receiving a fatal blow.
Blocking that attack put the momentum of the battle in his favor. It just had to ride that wave, and it would win.
…Was what it thought, but…?
“Marcos, go for it!!”
“Dammit! This is what I have to…!?”
“Wha!?”
Yuugo was still in the air after being flung away.
The crab kaijin saw Yuugo hanging in the air while beautifully retaining his balance, and realized that he was not flung away, and was instead using that force to jump high.
And then, Marcos jumped behind him, and Yuugo kicked the armor of the Giga Scissors to once again jump at the crab kaijin.
“I’m gonna yell the name of the move again!!”
“Ah!? Wah! Uaah!?”
The crab kaijin raised its arms to try to block, but once it remembered that its armor would no longer help it, it screamed pitifully.
It could no longer put strength into its arms anyway, and as it stood in that defenseless position not knowing what to do, its face was hit directly by Yuugo’s right foot.
“Blaster Spinning Rolling Kiiick!!”
“Gabuaaaah!?”
There was a cracking sound.
The shell covering the face was broken, and the face of the man below it had an anguished expression, as the back of the head was smacked down to the ground.
As it slid on the ground, the shell was broken into pieces and disappeared, and the man’s eyes rolled to the back of his head, as he stayed on the ground.
And much like when he was a kaijin, he foamed from the mouth.
“Yuugo Clay…! Using me as a stepping stone…!!”
Marcos groaned in humiliation, as he remembered Yuugo’s request to be a wall for him, since he could not spin in the air and kick the enemy a second time on his own.
He thought that if Yuugo failed his special move after all that, he would cut his head off with his scissors, but thanks to his efforts, the suspicious individual who was also a monster armor beast went down without any issues.
Marcos was frustrated, but he could not help but award that achievement to Yuugo. But as he thought about that, Phi and Melt came jumping out of the building.
