“Hey! Thanks for coming! Come in!”
“Y-yes…”
“Excuse me…”
A boy and girl visited Yuugo’s room one day.
Yuugo welcomed them with an enthusiastic smile, and Velda and Peewee seemed a little reluctant… They came to know each other a short time ago.
“Make yourselves comfortable! Ah, that’s right! I didn’t introduce you to Ryuuga!”
“It’s okay, I’ve met them. They helped me capture those bad guys before. Thanks.”
Said Ryuuga with a smile to the people he met during the recent commotion.
Velda and Peewee were surprised they shared a room, but quickly understood when they thought about how strong those two were.
“So, what brings you here? You must have a reason to come visit me. Well, if you’re just here to hang out, that’s nice too.”
After a light greeting, Yuugo talked to them.
Velda and Peewee looked at each other, and thanked that prompt as they continued.
“We have a favor to ask. But we need to explain something first…”
“Maybe you’ve heard of this… but we left Shian’s party.”
“Eh!? You did!?”
Yuugo was surprised by what they said, and Ryuuga responded.
“I heard about it. Was it because of this recent incident?”
“Well, yes and no. It’s not because we couldn’t get involved, we were just tired of his treatment.”
“Ah… I feel like I get it.”
Ever since he met him during the cooking club’s training camp, Shian always did crazy things.
Him hanging out with the now expelled Egos showed they were not so different… Yuugo understood it as the pretense of being a strong hero prospect wearing off, and Peewee continued.
“But this is what we came here to say. There is another former member of Shian’s party… And it’s her we want to talk about.”
“Another one? Have I met this other member?”
“No. She’s locked up in her room.”
Said Velda, and Yuugo and Ryuuga looked at each other.
This seemed like a complicated situation, where they both could and could not see where it was going, and Peewee spoke about Neries with a grave expression.
She was a timid girl, and the supporter in the party that cast buffs, as well as a good friend of Peewee and Velda.
They was severely beaten by monster armor beasts in the insectary, and the trauma led her to lock herself in her room ever since.
After hearing it all with a serious expression, Yuugo nodded a few times and spoke quietly.
“I see… What did Shian say to this Neries?”
“Nothing. You know about Egos leaving, the incident with Black Veil, and the commotion with the combat miko? He was focused on those things and never thought about Neries.”
Yuugo could only grimace at Peewee’s answer.
Abandoning a wounded friend and doing that… He thought back to Shian’s behavior during the incident with Regen, and thought surely there were better things he should be doing, as Peewee continued.
“Apparently the school is thinking Neries can’t stay enrolled like that. If she flunks the exams… she will be expelled.”
“But before we even think about her passing her exams, we have to get her to leave her room.”
“Have you talked to her? What is she like now?”
“…She doesn’t really respond to us. I’m sure she knows about the exams, but doesn’t say anything…”
“She’ll be expelled at this rate. And I don’t think we can do anything about it on our own, so…”
“You came to me…”
Yuugo nodded with an iffy expression as he understood what was going on.
Velda saw his reaction, and asked a question.
“I know it’s an inconvenience, but there’s no one else who can convince her. Can we ask you to do this?”
“Of course you can. A hero can’t abandon people in need, and helps his friends.”
Velda bowed, and Yuugo responded with a serious expression.
As a hero and their friend, he would not hesitate to help when he was needed. And so, he went straight away to the girls’ dormitory to speak to Neries.
