About the case of destruction flags being demolished after a nichiasa loving otaku was reincarnated as a villainous student – Chapter 65 – Defensive battle! But…

Yuugo jumped out of the building, with his Blaster lighting the night with a dazzling crimson shine.

He kept going towards the crazed people, and yelled as he punched one in the stomach and infused magic energy.

“Special punch! Moderate strength fist!!”

A finishing move that purposefully did not kill its opponent sounded like a contradiction, but this was still a proper move.

It was a technique inspired by what he saw before, when Zenon used magic energy to make a villager faint with a slash. By using the power of his magic’s impact instead of the force of the fist, he could render his opponent unconscious.

Incapacitating people quickly while not having to worry about their lives being in danger suited Yuugo’s pride as a hero perfectly.

He thanked Zenon for giving him this new point of view, as he incapacitated one crazed villager after the other.

(Zenon is one thing, but I can’t let the others fight these people! I need to suppress them quickly, so there aren’t casualties on either side!)

Melt was not the only one who was shocked by Zenon and the others mercilessly attacking the villagers.

He asked himself why they went so far, when he watched the villagers who were cut down, but understood that the emergency on their hands made the students desperate, and held his tongue.

Still, that did not mean he approved of what Zenon and the other students did.

Heroes did not put their hands on innocent people. No matter how much of a disadvantage that was to them, saving them was what made them heroes.

He decided to be a hero in this world, so he would follow that sense of pride, and save the villagers… Thought Yuugo as he strengthened his resolve, when a violet sword passed in front of him and exploded with light, sending a villager flying.

Yuugo saw the villager groan and stop moving, and threw a compliment at the person who was responsible.

“Nice going Melt! That was great, making it explode just before the sword hit!”

“Hehehe! I’ve been training magic energy control a lot, so I can use Seward Ring to make different kinds of swords!”

Said Melt as she created a small knife and threw it, catching the pants of a villager.

After the villager fell with a loud, echoing sound, Yuugo rendered him unconscious with another somewhat weak punch. Yuugo raised his fist, and thanked Melt, who was not only helping him, but even reading what was on his mind.

“Let’s keep going like this! Let’s suppress as many people as we can!”

“Yes!!”

They could not tell how many crazed people were coming from the mist. Most of the villagers had joined their ranks, so combined with the mountain climbers, there was a good chance that close to a hundred people were coming to attack.

It was a tough spot for a hero, saving both these people and the old people and children behind them. He could not let either group die.

And as he continued fighting with all he had, and this mission in mind, the voice of a child asking for help reached his ears.

“S-someone help!!”

“Ah! There!!”

There was a small boy hiding in the shadows from the crazed people.

And numerous crazed people finally found him, and were coming to attack.

Yuugo was the first one to notice the boy in trouble, so he infused his legs with magic energy and jumped, putting himself between the boy and the crazed people, and using himself as a shield.

He pulled away the crazed people that were attacking one after the other, and as he used his fists to neutralize them, he yelled to the boy.

“Run! Go to where that girl is!!”

“Y-yes!!”

It was not just crazed people that were approaching, the red mist was also drawing near.

Yuugo also realized it was almost there, as he stopped the crazed people to protect the boy he found just in time.

Melt once again knew what he was thinking, and threw magic energy blades to cover the boy who was running towards her.

Eventually, she grabbed the boy who reached her safely, and spoke gently as she held the crying boy tightly, so as not to let him fall.

“It’s all right now. We’re all getting out of here.”

“Yes… Thank you, miss…!”

The boy seemed at least a little relieved that he made it to someone who would protect him.

Now all that was left was to leave. Melt raised her head to tell Yuugo she had the boy, and that they should go, but…

“Uooh!?”

“Y-Yuugo!?”

She faced his way when she heard him yell, and saw Yuugo on the ground.

He got up and faced forward, but found himself trapped between the red mist drawing closer behind him, and the wall of crazed people that got between him and Melt.

“Hold on Yuugo, I’m coming to help…!”

This was bad, Yuugo was about to be swallowed by that red mist.

Melt immediately rushed to save him, but something grabbed her arm and stopped her.

“Stop, Melt! You won’t make it to Yuugo in time!”

“Let go of me! I can do it! I can help him! Let me go!”

Yuugo was in trouble, surrounded by crazed people, but with Melt’s help, he should be able to break through.

She yelled at Zenon, who grabbed her arm, with that conviction in mind, but he refused to let go.

And in the meantime, the mist drew closer… Until it enveloped him

“No, Yuugo…”

“Sorry. But I didn’t want you to get caught too.”

Melt watched on in shock, as Yuugo was swallowed by the mist, and Zenon sounded apologetic.

And then, he yelled to the students who were still fighting behind them.

“Everyone, retreat! The mist is almost here! Let’s catch up to the other group! Hurry!!”

He gave instructions to retreat, and abandon Yuugo. After making the decision to leave, he turned back to the surely disheartened Melt, to encourage and comfort her, but she was gone.

She held the boy Yuugo saved in her arms, as she pushed down the sadness inside her and ran from the mist.

She felt bad about leaving Yuugo, but told herself that this was what he would want her to do, as the boy asked her a question.

“What about that boy?”

“…It’s all right, it’s all right. Yuugo is strong, so he’ll be all right. Just come with me, okay?”

She told him that, but she was also telling it to herself.

She felt frustrated about her weakness, as she stood between thinking Yuugo would be all right, and not fully believing it, and ran from the red mist with the other students.

I’ll be honest. This was a little too predictable.
Next chapter, Yuugo will probably be alright thanks to his full body suit.
