An exclusive mage who broke up with his alchemist childhood friend, wants to lead a slow life in a remote town – Intermission 1 – The shipper elf of light

Hello everyone, it’s Lela, the shipper elf of light.

Mars and I have actually been following Loyd the whole time after he left the inn.

It goes without saying that we’re doing it to learn the secret of Loyd’s power, because we didn’t see him train at all when we were traveling in the wagon.

And once we saw him leave to finally do some training, we decided to go have a peek.

To put it bluntly, his power is not normal.

The magic he used to end the giant Sandworm was master rank, but so was the Item Box he casually used afterwards.

Incidentally, master rank is the highest rank in each field.

Low, mid, high, highest, master ranks.

This is the order in any field, and Loyd is a prodigy that could rival master ranks.

Loyd himself seems to have a low estimation of himself, saying that even if he can use master rank spells, he’s not at all great when it comes to everything else.

This idea was probably drilled into him by that power harassing alchemist.

I wouldn’t tell him myself, but I’m a pretty excellent mage.

I’m on the upper tier of mid rank mages at just sixteen, and my healing magic is at the lower tier of high ranking magic.

Not many people would have that high rank, so I have to call myself a genius. Most people never even make it out of low rank or the lower tiers of mid rank.

In fact, Loyd hasn’t spotted us because I’m using Soundproofing Magic, Perception Inhibition Magic, and Magic Energy Obstruction Magic.

Well then, we’ve been following him all this time, but it’s turning into an interesting situation.

There’s someone with the prodigy mage. Iris, the tragic saintess who was expelled from her country by the handsome ill-natured prince.

She’s so beautiful. It’s said that we elves are the treasure trove of beauty, but we don’t have someone that beautiful. They really packed the setting here.

“The tragic saintess expelled from her country by the handsome ill-natured prince, met the ruined handsome great mage and fell in love. But the handsome great mage is unable to forget his ex-girlfriend, the genius alchemist, creating a love triangle.”

“That Iris girl said she was expelled from her country, but she didn’t mention anything about a handsome prince.”

I can see a question mark on top of Mars’ head.

He’s right, Iris didn’t say why she was expelled, so I cooked up a backstory in my head.

“You don’t get it Mars. It’s the most important thing in this kind of setting. If the prince that expelled her isn’t handsome, there’s no ‘serves you right’ to it.

You need that to go ‘You’re such an idiot, expelling such a beautiful saintess!’ and then slap him with a breaking up letter.”

“You sure like those breaking up letters. There’s always that stuff in the books you read. It’s not something you should use willy-nilly. You’re going to make the whole race that was made the guardians of the forest cry.”

“Breaking up letter… The love letter of a new love.”

“It’s no good. She’s off to her own little world.”

Mars lets out a big sigh. A sigh is just happiness getting away, you know?

“By the way Mars, are you team Ruby or team Iris?”

“Eh? Hum… Sorry, I can’t give you an answer. I don’t know those two very well. But, well, it doesn’t matter what I say, what matters is what makes sensei happy.”

“Wrong. The answer is that we’re going to think about the answer together. I didn’t want to hear what was right, I just want to think about it together.”

“Ah?”

Mars responds with a tone of anger.

“Iris is one step in the lead right now. Ruby didn’t notice the message of love that is a breaking up letter.”

“Wasn’t she out anyway the moment she received a letter like that?”

“You really are hopeless, Mars. You don’t get it. That thing over there is clearly dribbling with lingering affection for Ruby. He said he was breaking up, but he was just saying it. He’s the annoying type that keeps going on about what if Ruby chased him here.”

“Calling your magic master ‘that thing’ and annoying is too rude.”

My shipping index gets an update even as Mars is talking!

“Wao, Iris is holding his hand, Mars. She’s taken the initiative for herself.”

Iris is proposing they hold hands.

Is that saintess trying to kill me with moe?

“What initiative? Are those two fighting something? Aren’t they just searching for an inn?”

“Come on Mars. I’m generally for Iris x Loyd, so I’m very pleased with this situation, but some people might be better off holding on to the delusion of Loyd x Iris. I’m changing the order in my head. I call this cross shift.”

“Why did I have to fall for someone like you?”

Mars doesn’t get the grandeur of this situation. He’s still a kid.

Afterwards, we keep observing them, but it seems they’re too preoccupied with each other to focus.

This is so precious I might blow up. I could give this situation six apples.

“They look troubled. They just passed by Flor Street, and didn’t even notice the map. This might be bad, so let’s go tell them…”

“Stoooop!! I’m in the middle of replenishing my shipper ingredients!!! Don’t do anything that will get you an arrow in the eye!!!”

“Eek!?”

Mars’ expression looks really scared, because I really sound mad. But it’s his fault, so I don’t feel bad.

I won’t let him disturb those two as they’re all lovey-dovey.

“B-but at this rate, they’re going to stay lost forever.”

“The maze of love is intricate. It wouldn’t be fun if you could easily find the exit. It’s important to offer guidance indirectly.”

“How are you going to do that?”

I bring out the map I got in the inn and open it, and point to Mars where we are on it.

“As far as we can see on this map, the adventurer guild is the closest, so let’s guide them there.”

“Why the adventurer guild?”

“It’s open at night. Plus, they have town maps, and receptionists knowledgeable about the town’s geography. They’ll find the answer on their own if they talk to them.”

“Such a roundabout way. It would be faster to just tell them.”

“You’ll get it one day.”

In any case, first, we have to make them notice the adventurer guild.

“…You say that, but they just passed right by it!!”

“Leave it to me.”

I take out the bow I brought with me from my home, and fire an arrow at a glass window of the adventurer guild.

The glass makes a loud noise as it shatters, and Loyd and Eris hear it.

“All right.”

“What are you doing!?”

Oh Mars…

Just a tiny bit of support from the shipper elf of light.
