American reincarnation★Love alliance – Chapter 19 – Intermission – The seven sorcerers and the girl in the basement

◆◆

The kingdom of Ludenberg, holy city of Ethnocentria. It was the royal capital and center of the world… But that glory and prosperity was a thing of the past.

The majesty of the shining White Crystal City was completely gone. The beautiful holy city was turned into a wasteland of black miasma and death.

The kingdom with a history spanning a thousand years was destroyed when just seven sorcerers attacked. The kingdom that protected law and order in this world fell, and the chaos that started there rippled to various different lands. As stability and safety declined, plundering became widespread and disease ran rampant.

Nobles in various lands gathered private armies to survive, and formed small communities. The people that remained lived in fear, and could do nothing but wait for the storm to pass.

The sorcerer that attacked the royal castle was named Liu Kinfei, and the six under his command came to be known as slave sorcerers.

Their attack was foretold by prophets as a great catastrophe, but no one listened, and just as the prophets warned, on ‘the night of everlasting darkness when the crimson star fell’, the sorcerers brought disaster to the kingdom.

The attack on the royal castle of Ethnocentria was the opening act to this tragedy. The seven sorcerers entered the castle through the front door, killed anyone in their way, and walked casually towards the throne room, as if they were strolling.

No one could stop them. There was nothing anyone could do against their powerful barriers and unusual powers. The royal guards, powerful warriors, wizards of the highest rank, and even sages who held the wisdom of magic. None of their attacks had an effect, and many lost their lives.

The royal family was killed, and the central system of government of the kingdom collapsed.

News of this disaster quickly spread. Some feudal lords were happy to hear about the end of the absolute monarchy, but this joy was short lived.

The next day, the sorcerers attacked main towns all over the world. Chaos spread as a storm of mayhem and destruction devastated the world and began to cover it with darkness.

Afterwards, the sorcerers simply watched the chaos and decay.

Many members of royalty and nobility from all over tried to gain the sorcerer’s favor by negotiating and offering peace, but all were mercilessly slaughtered.

The slave sorcerers sometimes attacked cities and towns on a whim, seemingly enjoying the destruction.

There was unending murder, pillaging, and rape. People feared the sorcerers as envoys of chaos and destruction. Beings who no longer had hearts and did the devil’s work.

They sat in the ruins of the holy city, ruling over the ones they let live for their own amusement, eating whatever they wanted, and taking boys, girls, and women they liked to be their slaves or serve as their playthings.

As Liu Kinfei sat back in the bloodstained throne, he looked upon the six slave sorcerers and proclaimed.

“I am the liberator of this blocked world.”

His hair was red, almost as though it was burning, and his eyes deep crimson.

He squinted his thin long eyes, and smiled slightly with the corners of his mouth.

“The old gods taught the unenlightened masses stale creed, scriptures, and knowledge. Kill the privileged class ruling under the cover of the lies that are law and order.

Break the old constraints.

Destroy the rulers’ order.

Liberate the people.

Give them true freedom.

Our beautiful, ideal new world is born of chaos and darkness. Death and rebirth. Our new world is a beautiful lotus flower blooming from the mud that is chaos.

It is our duty to lead the world towards true freedom.”

The six slave sorcerers all nodded deeply, and each went their own way.

There was no one to stop the ones with the invincible shields.

Heterogenous Dimensional Armor.

The sorcerer Liu Kinfei came from an unknown world and gained an invincible barrier, Heterogenous Dimensional Armor, from the fragments… Foam that collided with the boundary of space-time.

The force field recognized matter, and repelled all kinds of attacks and magic.

When Liu Kinfei descended upon this world, the hearts of the six wizards who performed a summoning ritual were broken, and they pledged their undying loyalty as his vessels, gaining power in return.

These were the slave sorcerers who had use of the invisible barrier.

However…

“Mihirakula is dead.”

A gloomy voice echoed in the dirty palace.

It was a woman with no eyes and a mushroom shaped head.

Her giant head looked like a black umbrella. A strange combination between the whirlpool that was her hair and her bizarrely developed brain.

“In the end, he was the weakest among us slave sorcerers!”

Said a praying mantis-like man while cackling. He kicked the ground, and dug many holes in less than a second.

“What a disgrace to slave sorcerers…”

The light around a certain area was distorted, looking like a photomosaic, and a voluptuous and listless woman appeared. The bloodstained sofa that stood where she appeared suddenly burst.

“Who did it? Should I deal with them?”

Said the irritated praying mantis looking man while punching the air. The impact of this punch ran through the castle wall, and created many hexagon shaped holes.

“Try not to destroy our home too much, Rhadamanthus.”

“You broke my favorite sofa too, Ahura Mazda. “

“Is this true, Redome Aegis?”

Said a man with the body of a rocky mountain as he turned around.

“…Gatel Nandine. I am the eye of the great Liu Kinfei. I tell no lie.”

“I see.”

The giant man Gatel Nandine silently nodded. The surface of his body had the black luster of steel, and was covered with Heterogenous Dimensional Armor scales.

He took the head of a ‘hero’ who ran into the castle in an attempt to destroy the sorcerers alone, and casually crushed it with his hand, spraying blood everywhere.

The giant man threw the empty shell that was once a human between the two sorcerers who were glaring at each other.

“That’s all we have to do to humans.”

“I know.”

“Yes…”

“…Obviously, nothing can’t stand against the great Liu Kinfei, or us for that matter, but when the two azure stars fell, something did begin.”

The woman with the mushroom head, Redome Aegis, looked at the other three slave sorcerers, although anything that could be recognized as an eye was covered by what appeared to be tumors connected to the brain.

“We just have to kill whoever it was. I’ll go!”

“Me too. I’m bored…”

“Tch. Do as you please!”

Many mice ran on the floor of the palace of death and darkness. As the slave sorcerers started moving, the mice panicked to run away.

“Squeak…”

A dirty looking mouse ran behind the multiple corpses on the floor and hid in a hole in the wall.

It ran through a path behind the wall, and made its way underground. Once it reached the underground canal connected to the river, it once again entered into a tunnel.

It ran deeper and deeper, until reaching a small, cleverly hidden room.

“Welcome back.”

“Squeak…!”

The mouse ran towards a girl wearing a simple one piece purple dress, whose blonde hair was dirty and tied, and whose face looked emaciated. Still, she let the mouse climb onto her hand, and gently smiled.

“…Funfun, I knew it. Their barriers aren’t always active, and they don’t cover all directions either…”

It seemed she either understood the mouse, or it re-enacted what it saw.

She carefully wrote everything on a small notebook.

In the basement of the castle destroyed by a storm of death, one girl survived.

There were others left in the castle, but they were made to be slaves or toys. Only this girl moved freely and acted of her own will.

“Everyone… Lend me your strength for a while longer.”

“Squeak.”

“Squeak squeak.”

She shared a small amount of cereal with the mice, and as if saying yes to her, they moved out once again.

“I’ll avenge everyone.”

The dirty faced girl’s blue eyes shined with strong determination.

“I, Metis, the disciple of a sage…”
