American reincarnation★Love alliance – Chapter 23 – Joint struggle. Bullets and swords

The praying mantis man’s head hit the ground, and his barrier vanished. The pink mosaic woman’s petals also withered.

“Nicely done Ameriko.”

“Same to you Himeno!”

“Ameriko, Himeno! That was great!”

“D-did they really defeat those slave sorcerers!?”

“Uoooh!? Our saviors!”

Chai and members of the alliance yelled victoriously, but the battle was not over yet.”

“Gugogo! How are you! Rhadamanthus and Ahura Mazda…!”

The dark giant sank deeper into the ground with every step he took.

The smoke in the air revealed his cylindrical barrier, which rolled as he advanced and trampled the ground around him.

“Are you people even able to see others as friends?”

Ameriko ran to the side of the road roller barrier and fired her colt handgun.

The bullet hit him right on the head, but it harmlessly ricocheted.

“Gugogo… It’s no use…!”

“Oh… So it’s as hard as it looks.”

The dark giant had a barrier around his body. Hexagonal crystals small enough to fit on the palm of one’s hand covered his body like scales.

“Does he have a barrier stuck to his body!?”

“That’s not fair! He has the road roller and a different defensive barrier!”

This sorcerer was different from the ones they fought before. He had two kinds of invincible barrier.

Ameriko inserted the colt handgun in the belt around her waist, and jumped behind a building.

She focused her mind to summon another weapon, something bigger with more firepower. Something that could pierce the thick barrier with one shot…

“Zugugogo…! Crush you… Turn you into minced meat.”

The giant slave sorcerer changed course and set his sight on Himeno.

“Oh!?”

The smokescreen was becoming thinner, but the cylindrical road roller could still be seen being swung downwards like a hammer. Himeno quickly side-stepped to avoid it.

A three meter wide hole was dug where she was standing.

“Nuu!? I am standing ten meters away and still felt the impact…!”

The range of the attack was bigger than Himeno expected.

“Himeno! I’ll snipe him.”

“Yes. Myself and the wizards will hold him back.”

“Okay! Just buy me some time!”

“Understood. Everyone, plan C3!”

“Gububu…! Nuuh!?”

The dark giant’s posture suddenly collapsed, as his legs were caught by the swamp that appeared beneath him.

“…If our magic can help…!”

“We can do our best to delay him!”

Said a witch who controlled water and a wizard who specialized in earth magic.

Their powers combined created the swamp trap that reduced the sorcerer’s mobility with mud.

It was a simple trap, but for someone like the giant sorcerer who was already less than agile, it did a great job sealing his movements.

“Well done!”

The hammer’s aim was thrown off by her ally’s magic, and Himeno tried to get close.

She jumped high in the direction of the dark giant, and unleashed a long distance slash while striking her enemy with all her strength.

“Tenken Chikaku Zero!”

But, with a sharp sound, the sword was broken.

“Gububuh…! Useless…!”

“It is simply too hard…! Even the energy from the blade did not get through!”

Himeno used the giant’s swinging arm as a foothold to jump high once again and gain distance as she landed.

She quickly summoned another sword, although she was aware at this point that slashes would not work. If only there was a tear in the crystal barrier covering his body…

“Bugogo… I have the toughest barrier out of all the slave sorcerers…! Gogogo, you can’t hurt me even if you come at me all at once…!”

He said full of confidence, before smashing his arms into the ground.

“He’s destroying the ground itself along with the swamp magic…!”

“What power!”

The shockwave sent the witch and wizard flying, and Chai quickly rushed to their aid.

The black luster giant escaped from the swamp and set his sights on Himeno again.

“Bugogo…! Beautiful black haired girl…! I’ll break your bones and smash the meat inside you starting from those delicate legs. The moment when a person explodes like a leather bag filled with blood is beautiful.”

“Hmph, you are refreshingly insane. I have no need to hold back against you.”

Said Himeno as she pointed her sword forward with her eyes filled with fighting spirit.

Next, she would be fighting alongside Ameriko.

“Sorry to keep you waiting Himeno!”

Said Ameriko with a cheerful voice as she came out of hiding.

She held her long, heavy weapon and took aim. She was very close, only ten meters away, and her opponent was a giant close to five meters tall, so it was unlikely she would miss even if she shot from the hip.

“Gugogo, those soybeans don’t work!”

“Ah, yes.”

Ameriko pulled the trigger, fire sprayed out of the muzzle, and the gun barrel jumped up.

“Gah!?”

The dark giant’s head snapped back, and the impact of the bullet shook his entire body.

“Gah… What…!?”

“W-wow!”

Said the witch, as Chai was treating her. She was amazed as Ameriko fired her biggest and most powerful weapon yet.

Ameriko prepared to fire her long rifle again.

“How does my anti-material rifle, Barrett M82 taste?”

An anti-material rifle from the American weapons manufacturer Barrett Firearms.

With its heavy 12.7 millimeter bullets, it’s commonly referred to as an anti-material and anti-tank rifle, but it was actually capable of hitting enemies behind walls.

It was used by the American army in the Iraq war, and legend said it could bisect an enemy soldier from a distance of one kilometer.

“Bu… G-goaah!?”

The dark giant looked as though he had no idea what happened to him.

The dark hexagonal crystal on his left cheek fell, exposing his white skin and dripping blood.

“He’s paler than I thought.”

It worked. The bullet broke the tough barrier, but the dark scale began to regenerate.

“Gugogogoah…!”

The dark giant rushed forward to smash the anti-material rifle, and Ameriko pulled the trigger again.

Her weapon held ten rounds, and she could not miss from that distance.

Bang! Bang! With each incredibly intense sound, the rifle jumped up, and a bullet hit the dark giant.

After every bullet hit his chest and shoulders, he stumbled backwards and black crystals were flung away.

“Gah!? This…! What impact… And power! What is… This is not… From this world!”

Every shot from Ameriko’s 12.7 caliber rifle removed crystals from the dark giant’s body, and blood sprayed from his sickly looking white skin.

“Ameriko! The face!”

Ameriko took aim as Himeno dashed.

“Okay! It’s my last bullet!”

Ameriko pulled the trigger, and the bullet hit her target’s forehead. The dark giant’s chin went up.

“…Gah!?”

He looked up, and stopped.

“Now!”

Himeno had already kicked the ground and soared.

She descended directly above the dark giant with her beloved sword Doudanuki, and plunged it with all her might into his exposed forehead.

“Gofusha!? …Ahi…? Iiiii…!?”

“Tenken Chikaku Zero!”

She unleashed her secret technique again. The dark giant appeared to be having spasms, before blood gushed out in every direction.

Tenken Chikaku Zero bounced around within the dark crystal barrier multiple times, ripping the delicate human flesh inside it to shreds.

The dark giant slowly fell. The dark crystals remained, but inside them was nothing more than a paste of meat and blood.

“Nice Himeno! We did it!”

“Ugh… I did not intend for this to happen.”

Their enemy was cut to shreds, and his dark crystal armor sank into a sea of blood.

“Uooooh! You did it! Amazing!”

Their allies screamed triumphantly.

“You’re the one who was turned into minced meat after all.”

Ameriko said as she kicked the dark armor, and a crystal the size of the palm of her hand fell.

“Wait… It retained its shape?”

The hexagonal crystals retained their shape, even after they stopped receiving energy from the owner’s body. The dark clouds vanished, and the sun showed itself again.

With the help of the light from the sun, they could see they were translucent scales, dark like obsidian.

“We might have a use for these.”

Said Chai.

“I see. We could use adhesive to stick it to armor.”

“It was a tough opponent, but he dropped something nice!”
