I was reincarnated on an island where the strongest species live, so I will enjoy a peaceful life on this island – Chapter 24-5 – The round table of the seven great mages (the remaining six)

In a certain place in the continent, six mages sat around a round table.

“Is that Reina really dead?”

A man with close-cropped red and black hair said with surprise in his voice.

“There is no doubt about it. The ship was caught up in a storm, and there were few survivors. Reina was swallowed by that storm and disappeared in the sea.”

“Ah! Even if she was the youngest ever, she was still just the seventh seat! Dying to some storm, pathetic!”

The man said, as though he was mocking Reina.

He seemed to not be sad at all that one of his people had died. And the other mages seemed to share that sentiment.

“So, what is the kingdom going to do? It’s a big country, but if they think we’ll be their pawns, they should be crushed. Don’t you think so?”

“Don’t mind that. The inexperienced Reina was one thing, but that’s nothing for us. Then again, letting the request end like this would tarnish the name of the seven great mages…”

Asked one of the mages, a woman with a captivating air around her, and an old mage responded.

“I’ll go. I’ll find the faraway island that Reina couldn’t reach, and get that elixir of eternal life.”

“I see, Xellos. Then we will leave that matter to you. Just don’t sully the name of the seven great mages any further.”

“Yes.”

Once that was decided, the female mage stood up.

“I’m worried about an idiot like Xellos going alone, so how about I go too? All I’ve been getting is boring requests and men lately.”

“Hey, who’s the idiot you idiot!? I can handle this alone!”

“Fufufu, what are you getting so worked up about? Won’t it be easier with two people?”

“If I’m with someone like you, I’m gonna be worrying about you coming at me at any moment and I’m not gonna be able to relax!”

“Oh? It would be an honor for you to be assaulted by me… What a boring man you are.”

The two glared at each other, and the old man sighed.

“…The seventh seat failed this task, but with the sixth seat Xellos and the fifth seat Merlin, we should be able to rest easy. Fine, we will allow it.”

“I knew you’d understand.”

“Hey old man! I said I can handle it!”

“Well then Xellos, make preparations to go right away. To that faraway island place.”

“…Tch!”

And then, the mages sitting around the table dispersed.

In the end, no one worried about the person called Reina Mistral.
