I was reincarnated on an island where the strongest species live, so I will enjoy a peaceful life on this island – Chapter 81 – The saint’s travels – Part two

Everlasting Darkness Cara Marguerite, and Divine Wind Seti Balder.

They were high ranking even among the seven great mages, who were said to be the strongest mages in all of mankind. They were monsters.

The hero’s party traveled through places like mountain regions to avoid being seen by others, and they had to fight back, as they had no way to escape.

“Uoooooo!”

“…Hou, not bad.”

Seti Balder released multiple hollow blades at an incredible speed.

The hero Arc smacked them down one after the other, but it was clearly not easy.

“Arc!? I’m blowing them away!”

Eri created a large fireball with her staff, and shot it at the hollow blades. It was strong enough to instantly vaporize the average monster, but…

“Yes, I’ll be having that.”

A shadow cat emerged from the ground, and opened its mouth widely to swallow the fireball.

It looked cute, but the magic energy inside it was immense, so the nastiness of the user was apparent.

“Tch!”

“How improper for a girl to click her tongue like that…”

“Shut up! Eat this!”

“Oh?”

A black haze appeared in the shadow cat’s mouth when Eri yelled, and it was blown away. The fireball that seemed to have been absorbed housed the power of destruction.

“Eh… Incredible. So this is that magic energy of destruction?”

“I’m not done yet!”

Multiple, smaller fireballs appeared in the air, and their targets were the two members of the seven great mages.

“Arc! Dodge!”

“Yes!”

“Hellfire of ruin, scorch my enemies!”

Arc jumped back, and fireballs rained from the sky like shooting stars.

Eri was the Witch of Destruction. Magic infused with her magic energy all housed that power of destruction, and displayed abnormal power.

The two members of the seven great mages with opposite personalities strangely had the same expressions on their faces, as they stood before the fireballs and opened their mouths to say the same thing.

““Interesting!””

Seti created more hollow blades than before, and Cara changed her shadow into multiple whips.

Each took on the attack with the magic that suited them.

“Youuuu!”

“Hahahahahahaha!”

“Kukukukuku.”

They felt danger for the first time in a long time.

Both laughed, enjoying this situation where they would have to use all their power or they would die.

Seti Balder believed in the supremacy of fighting stronger opponents.

Cara Marguerite found pleasure in fighting and trampling.

Normally, the pursuit of magic knowledge was the main office of a mage, and that remained true even for the seven great mages.

But these two could be said to be heretics even among those mages, although that did not change the fact that they were among the strongest of mages.

“Is it over?”

“Kufufu. That was a nice warm-up.”

After defending themselves against every single fireball, the two were unscathed.

“Monsters!”

“I’m so tired of hearing that.”

“So saying that won’t hurt us.”

Eri possessed incredible talent, but her opponents were in the same league, and pioneers in their field.

Maybe it would change in the future, but at present time, she was losing when it came to their abilities as mages.

“Eri, calm down.”

“But…”

“I go in front, and you in the back. And Ceres is here with us.

“…”

Ceres had been increasing her magic energy since the start of the battle, as instructed by Arc.

It was the summoning magic she used before. That magic had saved them from predicaments more than once.

“I can tell from our battle so far that we still can’t beat the seven great mages, but…”

“Buying time… Fine. Let’s try it.”

Both stepped forward, and Seti and Cara laughed.

“Are you done strategizing?”

“Then we’ll continue. Entertain us.”

And the moment they also stepped forward, a white magic circle appeared before the four facing each other.

“It’s coming! Arc, Eri! Over here!”

“Yes!”

“It was pretty fast this time!”

Both retreated back to Ceres, as the magic circle began to shine brightly.

“Is this the saint’s summoning magic?”

“What people call humanity’s trump card… Interesting.”

Both mages who felt happiness in battle smiled as they felt a strong opponent being summoned, even if it was a threat to them.

They refrained from doing anything to stop it, and simply looked forward to the coming battle.

““What!?””

But what they saw was a man and a woman, who seemed to be surprised by this situation they were suddenly in.

And Seti and Cara were just as surprised. They seemed baffled, as they could have never predicted who would appear.

“No way, Reina? You died…”

“Xellos?”

“Ahn? Are you Seti!?”

“Eh? Ah, Cara…? Eh? Does that mean this is the continent?”

Seven people now stood in this mountain area. That was all it was, and yet, everyone was too baffled to act.

Seti and Cara saw a colleague that supposedly died, and questioned if it was really her.

Reina and Xellos were confused by this sudden situation, and looked around to get a grasp of their surroundings.

And Arc, Ceres, and Eri…

“Xellos? And Reina? Extinguishing Fire and Myriad Mage!?”

“Wait, why did they end up getting reinforcements if Ceres was the one who summoned them!?”

They thought they would be getting allies, as they did before, and they could not help but feel flustered, once the veil was lifted and they saw that they actually reinforced the opposition.

“T-this is… Uh?”

As Arc and Eri panicked, Ceres looked a little puzzled.

“I feel… Mister Arata’s presence in them.”

“Eh?”

Reina could not understand the current situation, but turned around after hearing a name she recognized.

“Did you say Arata?”

“Eh?”

“Do you know Arata?”

“Hum, uh… Yes. Mister Arata saved our lives.”

“I see… So you’re the people he talked about…”

Was all Reina said before she turned to Cara and Seti.

“So Cara. Are you after these three?”

“Hnnn? Are you going to protect them, Reina? Even though you’re one of the seven great mages?”

“That’s a funny thing to say, despite not seeing any of us as friends.”

Reina saw Xellos and Seti talking not too far away.

They seemed to be getting more heated as they talked, and she felt their magic energy rising.

Basically, even in a situation they did not understand, there was no sign that they wanted to talk it out.

“…Kufu. Kufufuufufu.”

And Cara was the same.

She already saw Reina as an enemy, and immense magic energy hovered behind her.

“…Strange.”

“Hnnn? What is it?”

“I used to think you and Set were so strong and scary…”

Even among the seven great mages, there was a big difference between the fourth and fifth seats and the ones below them.

That meant that even Reina thought they were monsters, but…

“You seem so small after meeting the real deal.”

“And you seem rather calm. The seventh seat, R-e-i-n-a.”

“Yes, that’s because I really am. I mean…”

She knew what true strength was like.

The moment she said that, her magic energy increased explosively.

It went well beyond Cara’s, and continued rising.

Xellos also released magic energy that was not too far behind, and overwhelmed Seti.

“Wha!? What is…”

“Because of our past connection, I will do you the kindness of only driving you away.”

The tables have not been turned. Rather, they have been ejected from the room at terminal velocity.
