The eleventh floor.
I already have a map of this floor, but it’s the perfect way to test mappingool.
I’ve been here a few times, so I mostly know the way. If mappingool is wrong, even I can tell.
I don’t waste time, and activate it, and the Honto logo appears. And once it’s done loading, I operate the screen to begin mapping.
I start walking, the path I’m traversing appears on the screen, and it becomes a map.
The path shown on the screen really is what I’m doing, and matches my memory.
The advancements of technology really are amazing, I think as I watch the screen and walk.
I kill monsters with Wind Magic the moment I pick them up with Spatial Grasp, so that’s not a problem.
I think this will sell, especially with seekers that have passed the twenty-first floor. That’s how far the guild goes in terms of the maps they sell.
I don’t know why they don’t sell them after that point, but with this, parties and solo seekers can make them themselves.
As long as they don’t get blown away by a trap, people won’t get lost anymore, and will take the shortest way home.
That might mean getting fewer things from treasure chests and stuff like that, but at least they’ll live. People can still take other paths if they want that stuff, but treasure chests are rare anyway… Actually, I’ve found a few.
I try counting them, but I can’t remember how many there were. More than five but less than ten?
I wonder. Is that a lot or not?
It feels like not a lot, because the university students found four of them, but I feel like I’ve gotten a lot for just one person.
Hm… I think as I walk, and hear someone calling out to me.
I turn around, and see Kazuya with Akihiro and Satoru behind him.
Kazuya and Akihiro have ice axes in hand, and Satoru is sitting down, breathing heavily. He doesn’t look hurt, so he’s either tired or ran out of magic energy.
It’s been a while. What’s up? Are you mining?
Is it going well? Hn? You’re stuck because you don’t have equipment?
Ah, so that’s why you’re mining.
You want a demonstration? Of what?
How to mine with Earth Magic?
So that’s why Satoru is exhausted.
Fine. I’ll teach you young kids.
Still?
You still don’t believe me? I told you I’m a few years older…
These high schoolers still don’t believe me, and I stop halfway through because there’s no point.
But they want to see my mining, so let’s just show them.
I put my hand on a wall, and send Earth Magic through it. I detect iron and magic steel, and turn everything except that into sand.
The sand comes pouring, and I dodge it while moving it to the side.
All that’s left is the money making ore.
I show it off, and Satoru shakes his head hard.
I tell him not to give up before trying, and he says he’s tried it.
I see. I did show how to mine with Earth Magic before. He’s probably exhausted from trying to copy it.
Well, I tell him it’s about practice.
He complains that he doesn’t feel like he can do it, but I tell him he can.
I try to say goodbye after showing him an example, but Kazuya invites me to their party.
I politely decline, and ask something that’s on my mind.
What’s with the big scythe?
It’s been in the corner of my eye for a while. It’s a big scythe like death would use. It looks really brutal, so I’m wondering whose it is.
Akihiro grabs it, and puts it on his shoulder.
He really looks like a god of death with that, as he whispers that it’s his.
