I’m unemployed but I’m exploring the dungeon again today – Chapter 126 – Hundred and eighty-seventh day – 2 – Part one

The thirty-third floor.

I flew to the thirtieth floor, equipped Fuuma with a bridle and saddle, and rode it.

I bought two kinds of horse equipment just in case, but I couldn’t put the thoroughbred stuff on it. At least the miniature horse stuff fit.

I’ve been running through the dungeon with Fuuma. Since I started late, I slept on the thirty-first floor and ran through the thirty-second this morning.

Fuuma has been dealing with most of the monsters along the way, so I can just lie back and take it easy.

It’s tricked by a mirage great snake here and there, but it’s not a problem if I deal with it before it casts Bazoom.

Now that we’re on the thirty-third floor, I’ve decided to camp here for a few days.

My goal is sky fighting fowl. Their meat to be more precise.

I want to lay low in the dungeon until things with Minsule die down. I want to stay here for at least a couple of weeks, maybe a month, but since I bought enough food for three months, I can stay longer too.

And if they’re still after me after I go back, I’ll just apologize. Seijyu got mad when I said she was like Kuroitsu, so I’ll say I had no idea they knew each other, and apologize.

She’ll forgive me if I say she’s nothing like that black luster guy.

Seijyu seems more like the type to ruin a shining white house. I’ll say they’re different and that a wonderful woman like her is like a saintess, and she’ll forgive me.

And if she doesn’t, I’ll run to the dungeon again.

I’ll buy stuff outside and live in the dungeon.

It doesn’t cost anything to live here, and I have comfortable stable temperature all year round. There’s some risk of death, but if you consider I’m escaping the fetters of the world… it’s not good.

It’s not just the danger or whatever, I’m too steeped in civilization to live in the dungeon long term.

I could mess around on my phone if I was bored, but not having a bathroom or shower is tough. I wanna take a nice coffee break when I want to eat something tasty. I’ll have a new brother or sister this summer too, along with nieces or nephews.

Living in the dungeon just isn’t going to happen. I’ll wait for it to cool off, and apologize on my knees.

With that decided, I send a Projectile Slash against a sky fighting fowl approaching from above, and slice off its head.

After it falls, I drain its blood and take it apart.

I’ve done it a few times, so I’m getting pretty good at it. And the skill means I can do it in a short time.

Fuuma drools as it watches me do it. It might think I’m about to cook this.

How gluttonous is this horse?

After I’m done, I put it in the Storage Space.

Fuuma looks sad, and looks at me with its sad eyes. And it keeps looking.

I’ve done this before, but it’s pretty uncomfortable.

It won’t stop, so I tell it I’ll cook one if it hunts it, and its eyes shine.

With that done, we get moving again, but we don’t find any sky fighting fowl. Only mirage great snakes and hobgoblins.

Maybe it’s because of their size, or their strength, but they don’t move in groups. Mirage great snakes appear alone too, but generally if there’s one, its mate is nearby too.

I could take apart mirage great snakes too, since there are so many, but it feels like a waste of time because my mind is set on the tasty sky fighting fowl. I don’t feel like taking them apart.

I’ve been putting their corpses in the Storage Space, so I might do it if I have the time.

Fuuma is running in high spirits, but its eyes are getting more bloodshot the longer we go without a sky fighting fowl.

Its wide open eyes are looking around, and it’s so focused that it passes right by a treasure chest.

Hey, wait!

That’s the most precious thing!!

I pull the reins to force it to stop, get off Fuuma, and run back to the treasure chest.

I don’t want to get caught in a trap, so I take a pole for drying clothes from my Storage Space, and open the treasure chest with it. Smoke comes out, staining the whole area purple.

It’s clearly a dangerous color, so I press my mouth and use wind magic to blow it away.

I want to think I’m safe, but I inhaled some of the smoke, so I use Trace to check my body for abnormalities.

I look into every corner, but don’t see anything, so that smoke might have been used to block people’s vision.

Anyway, if I’m good that’s good, so I’m about to walk towards the treasure chest, but a weak mhe~ cry stops me.

I turn around, and see Fuuma has collapsed and it’s drooling.

Did it collapse because it couldn’t handle its empty stomach? I think that as I approach it, something’s not right.

Its face is turning blue, and black specks are appearing on its body.

I use Trace on Fuuma, panicking because it might’ve been that smoke, and sure enough, I find poison.

I have the Poison Resistance skill, so I was too lax about poison. Fuuma doesn’t have it, so it’s not going to be fine inhaling it.

I immediately use Healing Magic, but I really should be more careful.

And inside the treasure chest, is a blue flower vase with a handle.

There’s liquid inside it. I sniff it, but it has no smell, and when I pour it on my hand to check it, it just looks like water. I use Trace on it, and it really is water.

Is Fuuma thirsty? It’s looking this way with its mouth open, so I pour water on it.

I use Trace again while I’m at it, and see no abnormalities in Fuuma. And that it really is just water.

I look inside the now empty flower vase, and see a magic circle engraved inside it. I think I remember this pattern.

It looks like one in the book I bought from Master Azabu.

I take the book out of the Storage Space, look it up, and it looks a lot like a magic circle that generates water.

I infuse the flower vase with magic energy, and it generates water that automatically stops once it’s full.

Apparently this is a magic item that generates water.

I already have the magic circle, so I’m fine without water. Still, this flower vase doesn’t use a lot of magic energy, so it’s efficient.

I’ll have it appraised after I leave, and I might keep it depending on the price.,

I put it in the Storage Space, and I’m about to get on Fuuma to ride it again, but it makes a loud noise.

What is it, I think, but Fuuma is looking up, and when I look up there, I see a sky fighting fowl.

It hasn’t spotted us, so it might just pass through. But it can’t, because Fuuma uses wind magic to go up to the sky.

I was wondering if it was traumatized by sky fighting fowl, but apparently its hunger supersedes it.

Fuuma’s fighting power has gone up a notch after it got the rising dragon chakram. They’re hard to use, but Fuuma is good at controlling magic energy, so it’s a very good weapon for it to use.

It’s also better at using wind magic, and faster than me at activating it.

It uses my magic energy through the armor, so it won’t care about that as it attacks the sky fighting fowl.

Sure enough, it creates a small tornado as the sky fighting fowl charges forward, and dodges as it moves freely in the sky.

It also envelops chakram in wind, and hurts the sky fighting fowl with its boosted magic.

Lastly, it skewers the monster with all the chakram, and wins.

The sky fighting fowl falls.

It lands with a thud, and Fuuma slowly comes down.

It’s a little far from me, but I can see Fuuma is standing over the monster triumphantly.

It makes me feel a little warm that it’s so happy. I’m just glad it overcame its trauma.

I walk towards them to cook the sky fighting fowl, as promised.

Fuuma jumps with joy, neighing for me to hurry up.

Then there’s a sound of wind being cut, a large shadow passes, and Fuuma is gone.

I hear a mhe~ sound above me.

I look up, and see a new sky fighting fowl took Fuuma.

They never stop, uh… I think as I leap into the air.
