Did it cause the other monsters to attack? I don’t think so.
I don’t feel that kind of intelligence from the bear monster, and it feels like a being that’s surviving through its power.
That means taking it down won’t stop the other monsters from attacking.
I look around, trying to find whatever is behind this, but don’t see anything that fits the bill.
The bear roars in a threatening way, most likely because I looked away.
The volume of this roar is in itself a weapon, but the really scary part is its arms and volume of magic energy.
The small pointy arms make a sound as they get even shorter.
The tip aims at me, and is fired fast.
It’s like a pile bunker heading straight towards me to pierce me.
I consider blocking it with my sword to test its force, but jump to the side. The pointy arm then causes a great explosion when it lands where I was.
The wind it causes blows me away.
The sloped land is carved a lot, and the earth shakes greatly
I face the bear monster, and Fuuma sends its chakram, but even a direct hit doesn’t hurt it.
Fuuma’s magic won’t get through that thick fur and tough flesh overflowing with magic energy.
Fuuma breathes heavily and attacks again, with the same result.
This bear monster is tough, it could even rival the sea turtle monster.
Then I guess it will work out.
I kick around monsters where I land, and activate magic circles.
Pierce, Speed up, Explosion, and Solid, and add a tornado to the rock spear.
My magic energy drastically goes down, but I don’t have a choice.
The sound of a coil spinning echoes, and I infuse even more magic energy.
It seems to feel the power of my magic, because it moves swiftly as if trying to screw with my aim.
But I have a grasp on those moves thanks to Spatial Grasp and see Through.
My biggest and most powerful spell so far hits one of the pile bunker arms of the bear.
I hear them clashing violently, and the shock wave it produces destroys the area around us.
They’re balanced for a moment, before the magic destroys the arm, carves part of its body, and explodes.
A louder sound and bigger vibrations than the bear produced echo, and a crack runs through the slope.
That much power has to have put it down, no matter how strong it is.
The bear monster emerges from the blast without an arm and its body severely carved, but it hasn’t lost even a bit of its will to fight.
It doesn’t care about blood gushing from its wounds as it swings its arm down.
I jump to the side just before it hits me, and there’s suddenly an explosion on the tip of its claw. My body is burned and blown away again.
I compose my stance with Wind Magic, and sure enough, another attack comes.
The bear monster yells, and its vicious claw comes at me to rip me apart.
I can’t dodge, so I block with the greatsword of fortitude, but there’s an explosion the moment there’s contact, and the heat wave hurts me.
I use Healing Magic with Parallel Thinking, but I keep blocking attacks and getting caught in the explosions.
What should I do? I try to control the monster’s magic energy to attack, but I can’t even control the magic energy leaking from it.
I can feel practically no magic energy when it attacks and there is an explosion, and the magic mirror shield doesn’t nullify it.
At first I think it doesn’t use magic energy, but I think despite its appearance, it just has the ability to control magic energy.
Good grief, why did this thing have to come out?
I hold on with skills and techniques somehow, but its specs are just far above mine.
I’m using Limit Break, but I’m losing in terms of speed, and I’m not even close in terms of power. Its body is tough too, and the damage I deal is healed.
I tried to tell myself it would work out, but I think I might have lost the moment it didn’t go down to that one magic attack.
I bear with it as best I can.
Again and again, I block the powerful claws, and try my best to withstand the explosions.
My carbonized body is healed, and I rouse it as its moves become duller and I raise my greatsword. I stagger, but there are no monsters around to care, and I get blown away.
I’ve been moving to where other monsters will be caught, but the bear monster ends them as if they’re just in its way.
Not yet, not yet, I keep telling myself to rouse my heart and life.
Fuuma is trying too, shooting magic at the bear, but it doesn’t really care.
Still, it’s plenty. Feeling like I’m not alone gives me the courage to stand against it.
Like I was told in a dream, I’m glad Fuuma’s here.
So I can go beyond the limit.
“Limit Break ・ Burst!!”
Magic energy swells from my body, and it feels like I’ll explode with power.
The skill’s effect is further amplified, and everything slows down.
Spatial Grasp senses everything.
See Through predicts its next moves.
Physical Strengthening shows an even bigger effect.
Magic Energy Control can control all the magic energy I sense.
I infuse the greatsword of fortitude with magic energy, and cut a second arm of the slowed down bear.
The magic energy of the arm squirms and there’s an explosion, but the increased effect of Toughness means it just hurts a little.
I hold the greatsword in position to pierce its stomach, and infuse it with magic energy.
It launches a pile bunker from the side to stop me, but it also feels slower, so I use Solid and Petrify magic circles to create a rock wall to change its direction.
The wall is destroyed, but served its purpose.
I dodge another pile bunker, and there’s another explosion.
At the same time, the greatsword of fortitude pierces the bear monster’s stomach.
I create a projectile slash, and rip it apart.
The torn apart monster lets out its final yell.
After rampaging too hard, it limply falls facing up.
It would be good if it ended there, but there are still a lot of monsters around here.
Their threat level should be on par with the bear monster
I use Earth Magic, controlling a lot of earth.
I capture every monster around me with Spatial Grasp, and control magic energy to crush them all at once.
The ones with crocodile heads, the bats, the scorpions, the demon, I send power to mercilessly end them all.
But something gets in the way before I can do it.
A shining spear attacks me.
I try to use a rock wall to stop it, but it pushes right through without losing speed or changing direction.
I raise the magic mirror shield to block, but the force is such that it pushes me back.
The effect of my Earth Magic wears off, freeing the monsters it trapped.
Another troublesome one appeared, I think as I look at where the spear came from, and see a man with black wings.
It’s like a demon, but he has a different skin color and silver hair. And the face of a human.
He’s naked from the waist up, covered in a white cloth from the waist down, and has gauntlets.
It’s him. He guided the monsters to me.
Having reached that conclusion, I fire magic with bloodlust.
Many rock spears fly, and many wind blades fly from the sky towards him.
If he tried to beat me with numbers, I’ll fight back with numbers, but he flaps his wings and the magic dissipates.
The male demon then creates another shining spear, grins as he holds it up, and throws it hard.
It’s coming in fast, towards me… No, the corpse of the bear monster.
I’m shocked. Seriously?
I quickly grab Fuuma, and use Earth Magic to create a rock wall with many layers.
The corpse explodes, and the mountain is gone.
Raging bear king (bear monster)
A fifteen meter tall bear monster. More agile than it looks, and incredibly powerful.
Two of its four arms gather power, and it can thrust incredibly fast. It has both high magic energy control capabilities and a large amount of magic energy. It likes to use magic to create explosions, but can use other kinds.
The red jewel on its forehead is its weakness, and once broken, creates a large explosion that changes the geography around it.
