There’s an unconscious person.
A person in The Abyss. A male that seems to be about my age.
He’s dressed like a seeker, but the equipment is badly damaged and he is wounded to the point where he might die. Part of his body was crushed, and he lost an arm. Normally, there would be no saving him.
And so, I use Healing Magic to heal his body, regenerate him, and save his life.
With his breathing stabilized, I feel relieved and take him back to the mansion. Monsters would attack him if I just left him there, and that would make me saving him pointless.
He might have friends, so I look around this area, but don’t find anyone else.
I put him on Fuuma’s back.
It’s Hinata’s first time seeing a human that isn’t me, so it looks very curious. It tries to release the same magic energy as usual, but I calm it by sitting it on my shoulders.
I doubt anyone but me and Fuuma could deal with a magic attack while asleep. And only Totaro would be fine getting hit by Hinata’s magic.
Normally that would be crazy. And I feel like this man isn’t in that area.
So why is a regular seeker in The Abyss? Alive even?
How did he do it with his power?
I guess I can get my answer when he wakes up.
That happens after night comes to The Abyss, and it’s painted in darkness.
When darkness comes, Hinata doesn’t really go out.
I have a magic item that produces light and light emitting stones in the mansion, so it’s bright enough and adequate for reading manga.
And so, it won’t go out. It can’t read manga in the dark.
Hinata is the picture of a hikikomori.
Go out and exercise a bit!
That’s very bad for the body, so I take away the manga and grab Hinata to go outside.
Totaro is waiting outside with its neck stretched, and looks happy to see Hinata.
Hinata is sulking, but eventually gives up and draws a short sword to exercise.
It’s slow at first, like it’s checking how its body is doing, but gradually speeds up. It drops its posture, flaps its wings to soar, and attacks from the sky with a thrust of the sword. Targeting me.
I deflect the short sword with a chop, grab Hinata, and throw it to the sky. Are you an idiot?
It spins in the sky, and regains its composure.
Then it charges at me again.
It has a big smile on its face, like it enjoyed that spinning.
I’ll do it as many times as you want, I think as I stretch my arm, but then I notice Totaro wants in on it.
I grab Hinata as it charges at me, and throw it at Totaro. It blows Hinata into the air with a big breath.
Hey hey, is that all right? It’s high enough to worry me, but Hinata is having fun and charges again full of excitement.
I grab it, throw it at Totaro, and Hinata is blown into the air again. It’s going kyuah like it’s having fun, and we repeat it a few times.
It may look like Totaro and I are having fun throwing Hinata, I think just before I hear a voice from the mansion.
“What are you doing!?”
Looks like the guy that was sleeping on the second floor is awake.
I raise my hand to greet him, and he jumps from the second story window.
It’s not high enough to hurt a seeker, but I guess his body is dull from sleeping so much, because he falls over as he lands.
I run to him asking if he’s all right, and he looks at his hands with a surprised expression while saying he was weakened more than he thought.
I cast Healing Magic and use Trace to check for injuries just in case, but he seems okay.
“Healing Magic? You! What happened!? What about the others!? Why am I alive!?”
He clings to me and speaks fast with a ghastly look on his face.
Calm down, I say while tapping his shoulder. I grab Hinata as it closes in on me from behind me, and throw it at Totaro.
“Hey!? What are you doing!? That’s a kid!”
This guy’s so noisy. My ears are ringing.
I feel like knocking him out and talking later, but he’s just worried about Hinata, so let’s not.
Calm down, let’s talk inside, I say while pointing at the entrance.
