Level Gacha ~ It turns out the dump stat 『Luck』 is the most important – Roll 1 – The results of tenacity

“That makes ninety-six, and with this ninety-seven…”

I’m hunting slime in the dungeon, as always.

This is dungeon number 777, commonly known as Unlucky Hall.

It’s a one floor cave dungeon that appeared seven years after dungeons started popping up around the world.

Only one kind of monster spawns here. Yes, like the ones I just took down, the blue slime that are famous for being the weakest type of monster. They’re so weak that even if you can’t use magic, you can just hit them because they’re so weak against physical attacks. Even a child can defeat them easily if they’re careful about those rare times when the slime actually jumps to attack.

There was a big panic when dungeons first started appearing here on Earth, but seven years in, countries had figured out how to deal with them, and things had settled down a lot. And they used all the knowledge they had built up to investigate every dungeon thoroughly.

People came here because they were curious about the number, and because adventurers and researchers at the time figured there must be something to this dungeon that had no bosses and only one type of monster.

But nowadays, the dungeon is very quiet, and almost completely deserted.

And I’ve been coming to this dungeon all the time since I graduated from high-school three years ago.

At first, it was just because slime were the only monsters I could reliably take down.

When the dungeons appeared, every human on Earth gained the ability to check their ‘stats’. Those stats being Physical Strength, Dexterity, Constitution, Agility, Intelligence, and Luck.”

Some stats can be strengthened with exercise or improving artistic sensibility, but the best way to grow is to defeat monsters and level up. Doing so increases the values of the basic abilities a lot, and grants SP, status points, on top of it. This SP can then be used to boost whichever ability you like.

However, luck is special in that it never goes up by leveling up. You have to use SP.

“Ninety-eight, ninety-nine… Ahh, let’s calm down. I always get nervous when I get to this part.”

But in my case, everything from my level one stats, to how much they increase with each level up, to how much SP I get, are all lower than average.

First of all, a healthy adult male’s basic stats are all between five and ten, but mine were all below that. I guess I was never a good student, or good with sports, but still…

Next, when someone levels up, how much their stats go up can go from one to five points. Mine only go up by one.

Lastly, people generally receive five to eight SP when they level up, but I only get two.

That means that it takes me over five minutes to defeat a goblin, which is second only to slime in terms of how weak they are.

And so, after three years of slime hunting, my stats are as follows.

*****

Name:Shouta Amachi

Age:21

Level:31

Physical Strength:34

Dexterity:34

Constitution:34

Agility:34

Magic Power:32

Intelligence:32

Luck:60

Skills:None

*****

My Dexterity, Constitution, and Agility were all four at the start, while my Physical Strength, Magic Power, Intelligence, and Luck were all two. And so, when I went from level one to level two, I put the two SP I got into physical strength to increase my attack power.

And when I saw that I couldn’t reliably beat a goblin, I focused on slime hunting.

But eventually, I realized this dungeon was hiding a secret.

When you hunt a hundred slime in a row, there’s a chance that another type of slime spawns.

“…All right, that’s a hundred!”

And as always, I’m praying as I take down this slime.

The slime lets out smoke as it’s taken in by the dungeon, and a different slime appears.

“All right, an aqua blue slime!”

This type of monster doesn’t actually exist. After I saw it for the first time, I looked through monster encyclopedias from dungeons all over the world, but there was no mention of aqua blue slime. That’s why I named it that.

After I noticed this, I started pumping SP into Luck, which is usually seen as a dump stat. Increasing Luck doesn’t make me any stronger, and the few increases to my stats I get from leveling up don’t really make fighting any easier, but I feel that the more I increase my Luck, the higher the probability that an aqua blue slime will spawn.

If I made this information public, even someone with no hope of getting good like me would probably get popular overnight.

I was tempted, but I shook away those thoughts. After all, if I did that, my hunting ground would be taken by random people, along with… Whatever lies beyond it.

As always, I clear away the aqua blue slime. I feel like with my current Luck, there’s about a 60% chance that it appears, so it’s not all that rare.

But when the aqua blue slime disappears, another one takes its place.

“All right, a green slime!”

With my current Luck, there’s about a 30% chance that this one appears after I take down the aqua blue one.

I want to know what’s at the end. This is my hunting ground, the dungeon that was abandoned by everyone else. I’ll reveal its secret! I’ll get to it first. I won’t let anyone else have that!

I feel like the slime are all about the same in terms of strength, even if their colors are different. And so, I cut away the green slime whose movements are as dull as the others.

And after the green slime is gone, there’s only about a 15% chance that a red slime spawns.

After defeating a red slime, there’s only about an 8% chance that a purple slime spawns.

After defeating a purple slime, a white slime spawns only rarely.

After defeating a white slime, very rarely, it’s replaced by a black slime.

“I haven’t seen a black one in about half a year. Ah… My hands are trembling. Please… Please. Come out, next one…!”

I’ve only seen black slime six times, so I pray while taking it down.

Once it’s down, it releases its black smoke, and I see something wriggling behind it.

“W-what…? A rainbow!?”

It’s a rainbow slime.

Nevermind slime, there’s never been any monster that shines with the colors of the rainbow. This is a huge find!

“I need to take a picture… No, I’ve heard that rare monsters are quick to get away. It’s just a slime, but I can’t risk letting it get away after coming this far. Take this!”

I attack it the same way I’ve done tens of thousands of times.

And as always, the slime is cut down, not even looking like it’s trying to dodge.

“No resistance, as always… I guess all slime are like that?”

The slime disappears into rainbow smoke, and once it clears, a shining orb falls on the ground with a heavy sound.

“…Eh? A skill orb!?”

Skill orbs are rare, special orbs that appear sometimes in difficult dungeons after a rare monster is defeated.

Dungeons started appearing ten years ago, but these orbs are still as rare as ever. No matter what ability they possess, they have the power to make whoever can sell them rich.

But this orb is my reward after coming this far by myself, and I’m not letting anyone have it.

I immediately use it.

‘Will you use this skill orb?’

“I will!”

‘Learned skill Level Gacha.’

lmao, ran the math quickly and with those odds the likelihood of getting a full sequence of 100 regular -> 1 rainbow is about 1 in 75 million attempts.
Meaning that it would on average take over 1000 years to get Level Gacha with 60 Luck, assuming you took 5 seconds per slime kill and never had to rest.
So probably more like 3000 years assuming you did it for 8 hours per day, and actually even longer than that since his Luck started much lower.
Doing it in 3 years is actually insanely lucky.

Depending on how it was intended, there is a possibility that the odds, while low, are significantly higher than that. If it meant those were the odds for each time the sequence is started, rather than sequential odds of each showing up IF the previous one did. So after the 100th kill, there is a 60% chance that the blue one will show up, 30% that a blue followed by green show up, 15% for blue, green, red etc.
But yeah, if there are no authorial or translation errors, the odds a STUPIDLY low that he would get it this quickly.
