Why? How come? Why can’t I recruit Melt anymore?
These thoughts prevented him from getting a wink of sleep. And once he saw Melt having fun with Yuugo, the most hated person in school, he was shocked again, and whispered as he felt dizzy.
“N-no way…! Melt… My Melt, was taken from me by that scum Yuugo…!”
Melt Epee… Normally, she was the first female student to join the player’s party in Luminous History.

The player would accept a quest with her, and after checking what they had to do, Melt, who entered the school that year, would form a friendly relationship with the player, and trust them as her first friend there.
But that role… Was taken by Yuugo.
Not just the role, Melt herself. The others would never again have a chance to add her to their parties.
Frustration… Was the first emotion to pop up in Zenon’s heart when he learned of this situation.
He watched as Yuugo got flustered by Melt hugging him from behind, and was assaulted by an impulse to kill him.
But if he did that, not only would Melt not be his, but the game’s story would take a drastic turn.
That would not only make him unable to beat Luminous History, but also completely seal his future… But then Zenon suddenly realized something, and turned pale.
(Could it be… That it was my fault? Did this happen because I rushed to the event where I took Claire from that scum Yuugo…!?)

As stated before, Melt was a heroine that could rival Claire in terms of popularity. It made some sense for her to become Yuugo’s in place of Claire.
Zenon’s face turned pale again, as he wondered what the other reincarnated students might think about Melt being taken by Yuugo because he wanted to protect Claire’s first kiss.
He managed to add his favorite character to his party, but… That came at the cost of everybody losing Melt.
Zenon felt a mixture of frustration, anger, and fear, as he imagined the others blaming him and placing the responsibility on him, and immediately went back to his room.
(I don’t care! It’s not my fault! It’s a bug in the game! It’s this world that’s weird!)
Zenon shut himself in his room, while yelling to himself about how he was right and the game was wrong.
As the happiness from the previous day’s date was completely gone from his expression, Zenon punched his pillow to vent his frustration.
“Dammit! Dammit…! Melt, my Melt… It’s all that scum’s fault…! It’s not over yet! I’m taking Melt back…! Uu, uuu…!”
After venting that resentment for a while, he buried his face in that same pillow, and shed tears of humiliation about his beloved character being taken away.
Ironically, this pathetic display greatly resembled the shut-in Haino Seto that was him in his previous life.
