This is definitely information about a spear goblin in the goblin area. And…

“Is this a video?”

“The goblin is moving!”

“Is it in real time?”

“Then… Wah, Shouta! Other adventurers!”

“Is this Shuu? But the stats all appear as ‘???’.”

“If Aki or I press it, it shows images and stats. Does that mean it only shows the people and monsters you used Appraisal on previously?”

“…Hm. And to back that theory, pressing some white spots on the fifth floor does nothing. They could be people master has never seen.”

“So if I’ve seen something before, I can see it in real time, and if I saw their stats, I can also check them.”

Real time images, stats, and others can touch it. I assume these are features added by stuff like β or γ. And as the girls tap red and white spots, we learn that only five can be active at once. Once someone touches a sixth, the oldest one closes.

But this all seems like stuff that could be added to Automatic Mapping. Since it changed its name, it feels like there should be a clear difference, but…

“Ah.”

“Hn?”

As I think, Aki raises her voice like she found something. She’s pointing at an empty area of the fifth floor. The mountain area we haven’t explored.

She touches it and lets go, and a message appears on screen.

‘Search for information on unidentified area?’

‘Yes / No’

So I can secure map data without sending Enril out and using Vision Sharing…!?

The downside is that the information won’t be as good as if I saw it directly. And even if monsters appear as red dots, if I haven’t seen them directly, I won’t have real time video, like with other adventurers.

Still, it’s a new feature. Let’s give it a try!

“Yes!”

‘Calculating spatial data of target.’

‘Checking for underground areas in target.’

‘Surveying monsters in target.’

‘Checking perception jamming capabilities of target.’

‘Surveying the flow of magic energy in target area.’

A lot of messages I’m curious about appear, but in the end, the entire fifth floor is made clear.

Looking at the map, the mountain has a sharp shape like a drawing, and doesn’t seem to be flat on the top like on the third floor. There are caves mountainside, and when I touch the map, the message ‘illusion wall available’ appears.

I can’t tell what that is before seeing it directly, but I assume they’re like the cave on the third floor. And their information doesn’t appear when I tap the red spots on the mountain, but instead, all red spots are enveloped in a sort of membrane with an arrow that points mountainside.

“…What is this signaling?”

“This is a new feature too, right?”

“Yes.”

“So this is another added feature.”

“But it only appeared on the mountain, not the forest or plain.”

“Do we need to explore it again with this skill?”

Ayane then taps a space between two goblins on the plain.

‘Investigated area.’

‘Investigate again?’

“Yes.”

I see as it looks into the forest again too, and I learn what the lines are for.

“Does this show where rare monsters will spawn when these monsters are hunted?”

Lines dividing the goblin area into thirds are running from the backs of settlements to the entrance. The lines in the middle point to the middle settlement where a rare monster spawns after hunting a hundred, and one step into another will make it so the hundredth monster spawns a rare monster in the upper area.

As for the forest, nothing seems to have changed, but looking at it more closely shows there are red spots in the middle of groups that aren’t moving. Tapping them shows me information on hives.

“I see. There’s a lot more I can do with these new map features, but this is all we can check for now.”

“It’s very useful to know rare monsters only spawn in one spot.”

“Yes. Apparently we can investigate other floors too… I wonder about the golem area from the other day.”

“Ah, that’s true.”

I change the map to the second floor, and have it investigate it again, bringing up new information. It seems the water in the golem area is all gone, and it’s now a mud area.

Then I tap the golem area again.

‘Environmental monster: Golem’

‘Current environment: Sand→Mud’

‘Time until environment repair: Thirty six hours, twenty-one minutes, forty seconds’

“It looks like it will be back to normal around noon the day after tomorrow.”

“This is amazing information.”

“Master, good job today, but can you tap every floor and allow me to copy them when you have the time? With this information, we can increase the accuracy of association maps given to adventurers by a lot.”

“Ooh, nice. And they’d give them out to everyone, right?”

“This should normally be a secret, but that seems to be your desire.”

“I’m not surprised you understand, Aira.”

“Of course.”

Are we done checking the map?

I also want to check what changed with True Appraisal’s level up, but I’m tired, so let’s leave it to tomorrow.
