The frontier alchemist ~ I can’t go back to that job after you made my budget zero – Chapter 322 – Side Ahri – Part eight

I spin my spear with both hands on the center of its handle, and the shining pill bugs stuck in its tip are flung away

“Yah! Ahh!”

I stop the spear’s rotation, grasp the end with my left hand, and guide it with my right hand as I unleash one thrust after the other.

My spear is thrust all over the place, and the pill bugs coming at me are pierced one after the other.

The many pill bugs crowded together on the ground quickly form a puddle of blue fluid with their remains floating in it.

As pale light shines from the ground, I finally take a deep breath.

“Ahh… I’m a little tired. I need to hurry and go back to the others, but there are more enemies than I expected.”

I swing my spear, the blue fluid dirtying it and my body is flung away, and I continue walking carefully through the slanted passage.

“Still, it’s strange. I cut down so many enemies, but I feel my spear’s edge is sharper than usual… And my future sight is beginning to stabilize in regards to enemies clad in purifying light.”

I whisper as I check the tip of my spear and touch the monocle magic item, but both the tip and the handle of the spear don’t show any abnormalities.

I feel relieved, because I was worried that my spear was beginning to change like Taula’s sword.

Of course, that was caused by Master Rust’s curse power after all. But that still leaves me with questions.

“Ah!!”

It is when I reach a forked path and exterminate enemies that come in waves that the visions of my future sight suddenly become clear.

“This appears to be under the castle. Yes, there are those bugs clad in purifying light. Ah… No matter which path I take, the future shows me coming across that…”

I hold my spear tightly. By doing so, I can grasp the power in my body increasing.

“If I am to encounter it regardless, I might as well move forward. Everyone is waiting beyond it.”

I make my decision as visions of my future sight change.

In every vision that’s projected, I see myself locked in a tough battle against the resurrected person with the divine power to control those bugs.

“Even with this strange power suddenly welling up, I can’t see if I will be victorious or not. Lady Kalin, I offer up my spear.”

I raise my spear in the dim passage. I do this to rouse myself.

But as I whisper this, it’s Rust’s carefree face that crosses my mind.
