The frontier alchemist ~ I can’t go back to that job after you made my budget zero – Chapter 333 – Side Ahri – Part twelve

The first things that appear are ants the size of small dogs, glowing with that pale light. They come out of holes in the floor one after the other, and come towards me.

But the moment they get close, I mow them down with my deep crimson glowing spear.

The tip of my spear easily bisects the ants, like a knife going through melted butter.

It doesn’t feel like I’m actually cutting them, but I think that is a result of this power.

“Splendid splendid. A mob NPC like you is controlling the status that are the foundation of this world and using skills like it’s no big deal. Is that how much this world’s matured? You can even make a fool of the pets of an extremity of the manager like me. That’s no good.”

The enemy in the shape of a village girl babbles about things I don’t understand, and starts whistling again.

The ground rumbles, and one ant shuffles its way towards the enemy.

I have a bad feeling about this!

Somehow, my instincts tell me this even though my future sight isn’t working. I trust these instincts, and rush the enemy.

I hold my spear forward with both hands, and the crimson light opens like an umbrella.

I make use of my enhanced physical abilities to step straight ahead and accelerate while pushing forward.

Ants squirm in front of me, but their bodies are torn apart and flung the moment they touch this umbrella made of crimson light.

I see chunks of ants flying in front of me as I keep rushing straight forward, and the space around me quickly fills with torn ant limbs and heads.

It’s like a curtain of ant remains is closing in front of my eyes.

I step forward once again, accelerating further than before, and break through the curtain of ant remains.

There!

The enemy is right in front of me.

My spear pushes forward like it’s being sucked into that face.

But then, I stop. I’m stopped, to be more precise.

I thrust the spear with full power behind it, but the impact turns into wind that blows through the enemy’s face.

There is a shadow between us that was not there before. It was that thing that grabbed the spear with something that looks like a hand and stopped it.

“Nice, refreshing wind. Perfect, since the air here in the basement is stagnant. Splendid splendid. That? It’s my trump card. I guess I would call it ant man. Ant man, crush that young lady.”

Ant man? That one ant from earlier took humanoid shape in that short amount of time!?

This being is as big as a human now, stands up on four legs, and looks at me with its compound eyes.

It then swings its arm, while still holding my spear, and this crude movement pulls me in and sends me flying.
