The frontier alchemist ~ I can’t go back to that job after you made my budget zero – Chapter 379 – Something coming

“Hmph, I see. So you formed a contract with the undead dragon. You really intend to go against Zwei, a being that is like a god?”

The Weakest Seventh Seat doesn’t seem all that surprised to hear my crazy request for some of its meat. In fact, he talks like he’s now seeing right through me.

Hm… I’m guessing he knows about primordial magic and things related to it. But he didn’t know I formed a contract with the undead dragon. Then again, he could just be acting like he didn’t know. And he says Zwei is like a god, which tells me this demon doesn’t think Zwei is really a god.

I keep what I’m hearing and what I infer from it in the back of my mind, and ask again.

“So? I think it’s a great deal.”

A weapon clad in purifying light is only a little useful against humans, I guess. But judging by how the Third Seat of Immorality died, it’s a tremendous weapon to kill demons. And apparently demons were made to compete to become demon king, so other demons are their opponents.

I decided to offer a weapon clad in purifying light based on the information I gathered, and the pieces of the shaman’s memories.

I’m thinking it’s time, so I wave my hand, which is a signal to Rose. One of its vines rustles its way towards the backpack near my feet.

The vine wraps around, and brings out a knife. I made it using bones from one of the flying monsters we encountered in Sototo. The whole thing is pretty sharp, and feels kind of ominous.

And of course, I used curses, magic elements, and my blood to make it so it’s clad in purifying light.

Since it’s made of bone, it’s pretty sharp and easy to swing around, so it should be perfect for the Weakest Seventh Seat, who lives in the sky.

I wave my hand again, and Rose takes the bone knife close enough to the Weakest Seventh Seat that he can grab it if he reaches for it.

“So? If you take it, can I assume you agree?”

He reaches for it, hesitates for a second, and then takes the bone knife.

But then, there’s a streak of light from the sky, and pale light cuts and sends flying the arm of the Weakest Seventh Seat that was holding the knife.

A purifying light attack from above. Purifying light then looks like it’s crawling from the open wound, and envelops the whole body of the Weakest Seventh Seat.
