The frontier alchemist ~ I can’t go back to that job after you made my budget zero – Chapter 83 – Let’s rescue!!

“All right! I think we can reach it if it stays that low.”

Familiars get tired just like any other being in this world. It’s been going at the same speed as Hipopo for two days, so I’m sure it’s reaching its limit.

As for Hipopo and I, we have the luxury of consuming stamina potions, so we’re not all that tired.

I activate a scroll while praising past me for preparing so many stamina potions in advance, and the scroll flies.

“《Polish》”

The feathered snake’s movements are getting sluggish, no doubt due to extreme exhaustion. The nimbleness that allowed it to dodge Seilook’s breath and my attacks two days ago is nowhere to be seen.

The tornado with diamond dust inside it starts swallowing the tip of the feathered snake’s feathers, and they are ripped apart inside it.

The feathered snake dives with Seilook still in its grasp.

This is exactly what I was expecting, so I activate a second scroll.

“《Release》 the constraints of gravity, 《Target》 Seilook!”

Seilook is released from gravity, but doesn’t stop falling.

I activate more scrolls to finish it.

“《Release Limit》 full power, 《Target》 fixate scroll.”

I activate a 《Fixate》 scroll and release the limits I have placed on it to process materials.

“《Fixate》 Seilook, 《Airspace Fixing》… Now!”

When I give the order, many strings of magic elements burst out of the Fixate scroll and rush towards Seilook, wrapping around it just as it’s about to hit the ground.

The feathered snake that is also falling can’t take the recoil, so its tentacles are ripped off just before it smashes into the ground and bursts into pieces.

I release the Fixate scroll, and control gravity to gently let Seilook down while running towards it.

“Seilook! I’m sorry I took so long.”

“Kyu…”

Seilook responds. Its body really is numb. I quickly activate a 《Transcribe》 scroll to check its status and take out a potion.

In the meantime, Hipopo looks worried and touches Seilook with its nose.

“This is a potion of the highest quality. Open your mouth Seilook.”

Seilook listlessly opens its mouth, and I give it the potion. I guess it enjoys the taste even at a time like this, because it looks a little happy.

I’m glad Seilook is like a human, in that it can drink potions with a high concentration of magic elements with no problem…

My perfectly pure water clears away the effect of the shaman’s curse and poison, and the result is dramatic. Seilook immediately gets up and lets out a high pitched cry.

“Kyururururu~.”

It seems my high quality potion tasted good. Seilook is very clearly asking for seconds.

I give it another potion as an apology for taking so long.

“At least make sure you savor it. Those aren’t easy to make you know?”

I say with an awkward smile.

“Kyukyu.”

Responds Seilook, like it’s saying ‘I know I know’, before taking the potion with its forefeet and slowly drinking it.

“I’m glad you’re all right.”

I breathe a sigh of relief.

“But what do we do now?”

I say while looking around.

The author whips out way too many deus ex machina scrolls all the time. It’s heavily overused along with the great variety of scrolls the MC has stored up in his batman utility belt of infinite devices. It’s at the point of being very annoying to have all these varied scrolls instantly found and whipped out and targeted with perfect accuracy.

It seems you weren’t paying attention. MC has about a dozen scrolls only (not counting the duplicates). But they are versatile tools who can equally establish the reality of a potion and prevent a dragon from falling to the ground.
For example, in this chapter, most of the scrolls MC used, were scrolls he used when he first healed the paladin of vengeance. Except for “polish”, his go-to attack spell which he first used when producing old-style magic gun ammo.
