Walking in another world – Chapter 331 – God killing weapon – Part two

I decide to check the status panel. My MP… Recovered completely as I talked with Ou.

And the Creation skill’s level is still shown as MAX, no matter how many times I look at it.

I take a big breath and exhale.

A wyvern is like a subspecies, but that name still makes me think of a dragon. How valuable is this one magic stone? And then you add the lump of mithril… No, let’s just not think about it. Let’s focus on what’s in front of me.

I line up the three items, and activate the Creation skill with a simple dagger in mind.

The three items are drawn closer to each other, as if guided by the magic energy, and start to become one, as their original shapes melt into each other.

I pump even more magic energy and try to make the picture in my head more clear, and wait for it to stabilize while maintaining this condition.

The dragon god fang and the mithril are repulsing each other, but the wyvern magic stone is acting sort of like an adhesive.

And then, it slowly starts to take shape, until eventually I have a completed dagger in front of me.

The blade is a little long for a dagger, and at a glance, I can’t say it doesn’t look like a cheap mass produced weapon.

God killing weapon. Capable of piercing anything. Handle with care.

It says handle with care… Is it because it’s too sharp?

I test it out by striking it against the blade of a spare sword, and it cuts it in half without any resistance. I didn’t even put any strength into the swing… This actually is dangerous.

“Yes, a god killing dagger. It actually was done…”

Ou looks surprised too, but since this is dangerous, I better put it in the Item Box.

I hope I don’t have to use it, but having a trump card doesn’t hurt.

Could I use it to easily hunt high rank monsters?

“What should we do with this? Should I take it? Should your side be using it?”

“You provided the most important piece. You should take it.”

He’s just going to let me have it?

I guess the most important piece really was the dragon god fang I got from the dragon king, but still…

“Don’t be nervous. I am actually a researcher of sorts. This is interesting to me, seeing something new being created.”

“…All right. Then I’ll take it. Are you really sure?”

I ask just to make sure, and he smiles awkwardly.

Wasn’t he looking for a way to kill a god?

“…Can I ask one thing?”

“If I can answer, I will.”

“We passed by some ruins on the way here. Actually, it was more like a house. A house where an otherworlder you know named Yutaka lived.”

I feel like the mood changes a little the moment that name is brought up. He looks at me with squinting eyes, and it sends a chill down my spine.

But I press on. I have to ask this.

“We saw you talking to Yutaka about looking for a weapon to kill a god. I’ll ask again, are you sure?”

“…Yes. Not to mention that I don’t need it anymore.”

Does that mean they made one themselves?

“More importantly, what are your plans going forward?”

He asks like he’s curious, but it sounds like he’s changing the subject.

“Our goal was to find Eris…”

“If you saw those images of Yutaka, then you know what happens to demon kings.”

I noticed it too. I forgot all about it because I was focused on making the weapon, but I remembered it. The fate of all demon kings throughout history…

Chris and the others also heard Yutaka, so they know. But maybe they haven’t realized it. What are they going to do when they do?

“If the heroes are beaten back, will the goddess descend onto this world?”

Then I remember something written on that wall.

‘This time, the demon king beat back the summoned people three times. The fourth time, the goddess descended to join the battle?’

And Yutaka said that by the end, the demon king was defeated by the first heroes summoned.

The demon, Ignis, always prioritizes defending the demon king. I’m sure Ou is the same. If that’s the case, it makes sense for him to look for a weapon to kill the goddess.

But would defeating the goddess change the fate of the demon king? Actually, what would happen in general if the goddess died?

“Are you demons going to kill the goddess?”

“…We intend to, if necessary. We have been preparing.”

“Does Eris know?”

“…I wonder. Maybe she has figured it out, but surely she doesn’t know a lot. We don’t talk about this in front of the demon king.”

I feel like I heard something before about demon kings inheriting memories.

“And surely the demon king won’t try to change fate. Who knows, maybe going against the goddess will increase the chances of her sister being chosen as the next demon king.”

“…Does the goddess pick the demon king?”

“Sometimes, sometimes not. But people who feel hostility towards the goddess and wicked people are more easily chosen. This is something you find out when you become demon king.”

Is this why Yutaka’s partners scattered? I feel like a lot of them were races who lived long lives, like elves… At least judging from those images I saw.

“That means that surely, the demon king will offer herself to the goddess, should she descend.”

He says, before going quiet and looking at me with sadness in his eyes.
