Walking in another world – Chapter 371 – Mock battles – Part two (Beast king’s point of view)

I sit down in a corner of the training area, and watch as the others fight.

Hm… They’re going at it a little too hard.

Argo and the others are leaning against a wall, looking spent, and watching the heated mock battles. Their eyes look dead, but that’s probably just my imagination.

By the way, everyone’s attention is on Ryuryu, who’s swinging her spear around with that small body of hers, and taking down tough guys one after the other.

Did something bad happen?

Her victims aren’t just the beast people I brought with me either. First she fought Argo and the others, and then she started fighting adventurers from the capital.

This tragedy began because adventurers who work in this country came over here after hearing that Argo and his party were doing mock battles, and made fun of Ryuryu, who was serving as the referee.

First, her fans got mad, but she stopped them, and stepped up herself.

And that brings us here…

Those emotionless eyes now look exactly like my wife’s, when she’s mad.

“I thought she was brought as an advisor, but that girl’s strong.”

“That’s why she’s generally seen as the number two.”

Argo and the others laugh dryly at my response. It’s probably because what’s happening in front of them is very convincing.

“So, did we pass?”

“Yes, no problem, it’s just your opponent being what she is. You should probably train more, if you have the time. Although it looks like you’re at least doing the minimum.”

“That does sound good. Are you going to train with us, End?”

“…No, I think it’d be better if it was someone who uses swords or spears. And don’t worry, Ryuryu won’t be taking part because of her stature. Although she might say she needs to unload some stress and join in.”

I say as a joke, and they turn pale.

“It’s fine. If I get stressed, End here will be my sparring partner.”

Hahaha, what kind of joke is that?

“Anyway, I wanna discuss things in more detail. Is tonight okay?”

“Y-yes, of course.”

He sounds stiff. Is he nervous because of her?

“Hey, you have blood on your cheek. Don’t ruin your pretty face like that.”

“S-shut up.”

What an unreasonable girl. I just wiped her face and she kicked me. And she didn’t hold back either.

“I’m going back. See you later.”

I haven’t exercised in a while, but I’ll end it here for today.

Hn? Are you coming back too, Ryuryu? You can stay here and keep going.

Hohou. Do you think you need to keep an eye on me to make sure I don’t do anything stupid? No no, I’m not going to drink or anything.

◇ ◇ ◇

“Let’s talk about our plan in more detail then.”

I try to start explaining, but Ryuryu steals my spot. Unreasonable…

And Heat, and the rest of you too. Why did you stop me? I’m in charge here, right?

“First, our goal here is the fall of the castle. We’re after the king’s head.”

“You want to kill the king?”

“We wanna take him alive if that’s possible, but if we can’t, we can’t. But that’s End’s job, so you all better keep that in the back of your minds.”

“Ryuryu is right. First we need to get a good grasp on that noble town surrounded by walls. Our unit will be doing that.”

The problem is how many people are there. Apparently most of the nobles don’t actually fight, but I’d like to capture them too if I can.

“Question. How many of you are there, including End and the others?”

“About two hundred.”

And close to three hundred went to the fortress city as camouflage. But I told them to start coming here, a few at a time, if they see demons in the battlefield.

They’d attract attention if they all just came here at once.

“And you’re going to take the castle down with just that?”

“Everyone with me is outstanding, and I’m planning to get reinforcements too.”

“Reinforcements?”

“Yes. Once they get here, we won’t even matter that much.”

And the ones guarding the castle right now are chivalric orders centered around nobles. They call them elite, but apparently they’re not all that good.

“And so, Argo, we want you people to act mainly as a rescue team.”

“Rescue team?”

“Yep. We think that person you’re looking for is probably in there.”

Says Ryuryu, and Argo’s eyes light up.

His face looks better than when he’s thoughtlessly hitting on girls.

“When do we attack?”

“When the fortress city is attacked and on fire, that’s our signal to start.”

“…That means someone’s constantly watching, right?”

I’m taken aback when I hear that, but apparently Guilford knows how to respond. And he’s holding his head with his palm.

“Argo, there will be an alarm if something happens in the fortress city.”

I’m really surprised by what Guilford says. Did I pick the wrong people?

Ryuryu doesn’t seem worried, so I guess it’s fine.

“There’s something I want to ask too. If we attack the castle, what do you think the other adventurers will do?”

Today’s mock battles have taught me that there’s not really anyone that will be a threat to us, but there might be more strong people.

“I don’t think there are any adventurers that will go out of their way to protect it. Of course, it’s a different story if we’re harmed.”

So no problem then.

Now we just have to be patient and wait.

So is the beast people attacking because how bad they are treated especially by the Kingdom I think they were forced to participate in the war against the demons and as pawns in the front line or am I remembering wrong
