“Be careful out there grandma.”
“It’s fine. I have Mister Windsor here with me. And them too.”
Morrigan says to Chris, while looking at Naoto and Argo’s party.
She’ll be accompanied by not just Windsor, but an A ranked party too. Even if some bandits appear, they’re not going to be a problem.
The capital of the Republic of Eldo, Flamen, neighbors Nahal, so it should take her three days by wagon to get there.
And of course she’ll be going by wagon. That’s how people normally travel from town to town if they can afford it. I’m thankful to my party members for traveling by foot all this time, all because of me.
By the way, Naoto and the other otherworlders are going with her too, so they can get identification.
“You can have this back, grandma.”
Chris says as she hands Morrigan that pendant.
“You can keep it, Chris.”
“But this is some sort of proof of something, isn’t it? You should have it.”
“Yes… Some people might have forgotten me, so maybe I should have it for now. But those people who have forgotten are going to taste my fists.”
After thinking for a bit, Morrigan takes the pendant. And I hear her say some violent stuff too, but I’m probably just imagining it.
Chris isn’t saying anything about it either.
“Filo, I’m leaving the rest to you. This time, I’ll be back soon.”
“Yes, you can count on me.”
“And Sora, you’re forbidden from building a house. You haven’t decided to move here yet, have you?”
Despite her gentle demeanor, there’s an inexplicable intensity to her words.
I guess it’s normal for someone to be surprised, when they wake up in the morning and see someone built a house.
Filo’s place is relatively far from the center, so it didn’t cause a buzz, but it might have caused a fuss.
Also, if it gets out that houses can be built so easily, people are bound to lose their jobs.
“Let’s go.”
Two wagons speed away, with Morrigan and the others in them.
We watch them go until the wagons are out of our sight, and go back inside.
Chris and the others are the ones who are home, so I go to the farmers that teach kids how to farm, Olin and Nono.
When I get there, I see kids energetically plowing a field. Others are sowing seeds, and over there they’re harvesting.
I hadn’t seen Hikari since this morning, but it turns out she’s over here.
When she notices me, she stops working and waves. And that prompts Olin and Nono to notice me too.
“If it isn’t Sora. I knew you were around too, since Hikari is here. Look at these vegetables! They’re growing so well thanks to your soil medicine.”
Olin is pretty excited.
There really are more compared to the last time I was here, and they’re all much bigger too. I can really feel the weight when I hold one.
“I’m glad it’s going well. So I take it the experiment worked?”
“That’s putting it mildly! The quality’s so good, that merchants are coming from the capital to buy them!”
“And it looks like you’re expanding the farmland a lot…”
“Yes, this area is all under Filo’s name. The alchemist guild bought it for their experiments, and then transferred it over to her.”
That’s pretty generous.
Even if it was cheap because the land was barren, I’m sure the price went up after the soil medicine was used. They could’ve turned a profit if they sold it, but they just handed it over…
“I guess it was sort of like a thank you. They’re making money with your soil medicine too. There’s also something about rights or whatever, so they asked me to tell you to go there if I saw you.”
“Then I’ll pay them a visit.”
They’re nice people normally, but they change when it comes to their experiments.
This time I’ll be going there to talk about the soil medicine, so I think it’ll be fine.
“I thought I was going to spend the rest of my life just taking it easy farming too, but I guess I’ll have to try harder for a little while longer.”
He’s talking about working hard until the kids are old enough for someone to take over.
The way he looks at the kids is as gentle as Morrigan’s, and he’s talking with them and laughing.
“Master, they say they can have their fill of food now.”
“I see, that’s what matters.”
“Yes, it’s wonderful. But they should eat more meat.”
This farm is more about vegetables. If they were going to produce meat for themselves, I guess it would be livestock?
Maybe we should talk to Olin or Filo about that.
“I’m heading to the alchemist guild. What about you, Hikari?”
“Yes, I’m going. And I want to buy things from a stall to bring back.”
I think she wants meat.
We go tell Olin, and then head to the alchemist guild.
