Liebe’s will was transformed into the distorted dark matter known as a ghost. And Qualia was facing said will.
He finally faced him, in the cage with nothing but ghastly torture and blood.
“Why?”
There was no trace left of the boy who cared for his sister.
His face lost its color, as he looked blankly at Qualia.
“Why did you come this far to lie to me? Why do you lie about Ina not being dead?”
A dry laugh echoed in the cage.
“Do you enjoy playing with people’s hearts like that cardinal? And you even came here to my world just to enjoy yourself. Die.”
After roughly throwing words at Qualia, Liebe’s will started to return to the darkness.
Qualia saw the jet black color begin to cover the world, but he did not budge. He simply stood, and continued to watch with his clear eyes to learn Liebe.
“Request explanation. What was tasty about the food Ina put out?”
“…What did you say?”
The space stopped losing light.
“Qualia perceives Ina’s bread as the tastiest thing. Specifically, the bread rolls are tasty.”
It was what Qualia ate right after being reactivated in another world.
The food made of wheat that Qualia input ‘tasty’. Qualia thought back to that taste.
“…”
The young siblings were projected in Liebe’s world.
‘Ina, did you make those bread rolls?’
‘Hehehe… Yes. You can eat them if you want.’
‘…They’re tasty. They’re so tasty.’
‘Really? I’m happy to hear that… Really happy. I’m gonna make lots from now on!’
Ina’s innocent smile and Liebe’s face becoming full of energy started to fade away.
“I… Liked the bread rolls too. Ina’s bread rolls were what I liked the most in the world.”
“Qualia is learning that ‘tasty’. That is proof that Ina’s vital activities never stopped.”
“…!”
“Only someone with vital activities can create ‘tasty’.”
Liebe’s enmity came back.
The dark outline swayed, as he glared at Qualia.
“…You saw it. That cage was full of Ina’s blood. There’s no way she survived that!”
“Hacking you can only show me your memories. Qualia cannot explain Ina’s escape, if it is not registered in you.”
Ina’s blood was stuck to the walls made of earth, but that did not matter.
People from the Truly Wonderful Fair Skies Church were supposedly keeping watch, but that did not matter.
No matter how you looked at it, Ina was not supposed to have survived, but that did not matter.
“But Ina is currently alive. You need to learn that”
Qualia then began to rewrite the magic energy. He poured light that was magic energy into the cage that was the dark matter, and began to rewrite the world. He kept pouring specific magic energy so Liebe did not rampage, or disappear.
He had already finished learning Liebe’s dark matter, much like he did magic stones.
And so, he began hacking, much like how he severed Ddos’ instructions, and neutralized the black holes.
The plans to clear the darkness in Liebe were already in his head. Just like he was taking Liebe’s hand and pulling him out of the cage.
“What are you trying to…!?”
“You are wrong. Qualia is doing nothing. You are just learning.”
Qualia took Liebe where Lobelia’s mansion was projected.
Quiet Ghost’s vision was projected directly into Liebe’s consciousness.
The knights clad in black were holding their swords and looking up. And Kernel’s thin eyes were squinted even harder, as he glared a hole through Quiet Ghost.
As a result of Qualia’s hacking, Liebe’s consciousness went to its heart, and Stealth was deactivated.
The swordswoman named Spirit, and the magic doll named Ace were standing in front of a girl, as if defending her.
But the girl behind her, a cat-eared girl, seemed to be trying to move forward.
She seemed to be desperately calling someone’s name, as she looked at Quiet Ghost with tears in her eyes.
“The one… Pretending to be Ina…”
“Request that you search your memories. You should have memories of Ina’s face.”
Liebe looked at Qualia with a serious expression, as if he was right on target.
The memories it brought were projected behind Qualia. It was a wounded Liebe, with a young Ina snuggling close.
‘Big brother, big brother… Ah…’
‘I’m not dying… Hey, I don’t need you to rip my clothes to treat…”
‘No! Big brother.. I don’t want you to die…’
Her eyes full of tears, and the disheveled face she made when she cried.
The memories he had of Ina matched the current Ina perfectly.
Her honest face and eyes filled with worry were too similar to be called an imitation.
“That’s… The crying face I always saw.”
“Ina always chooses a not ‘tasty’ face when talking about you.”
Qualia stood next to Liebe, and spoke about Ina.
“Even now, Ina is remembering your death. She wishes to be with you. She wishes to maintain both your vital activities.”
“…”
“That is not possible if one’s vital activities have stopped. That is not possible… If she is not the Ina that is present in many of your memories.”
“Ina… I…”
Quiet Ghost was facing Ina, who desperately yelled.
Liebe looked down, but Qualia used both hands to raise his head. He would not let him turn away.
He saw Clearance, Spirito, and Ace trying to stop Ina.
Unlike three years before, those humans were not gathered there to hurt her. It was a group that was fighting with all they had to protect her.
“Ina… I see, I see, I see, you…”
‘Big brother…!’
Ina’s voice echoed in Liebe’s dark matter as well.
The voice that excelled at worrying about others, that was fine, but definitely reached its target.
That voice was coming out of Ina’s mouth.
‘Big brother…!’
That voice became a streak of light in the darkness.
A streak of hope that was warmer and stronger than a beam from a photon weapon.
When he heard it, Liebe instantly stopped.
“…When people look at light, their eyes are dazzled. When they look at light, their eyes suffer adverse effects temporarily.”
“…”
“But you need to look at Ina. Even if it is disadvantageous that your eyes are dazzled.”
Liebe’s lips trembled. There was no longer any need for Qualia to hold his head.
Liebe could finally look at Ina.
“Request that your eyes acquire this information again!”
“…Ina.”
The darkness covering that world slowly but surely faded.
But Qualia knew, even if he did not learn the ghost. Detecting the ‘tasty’ expression on Liebe’s face upon seeing his little sister again was enough.
“Hacking complete. Task finished.”
When Qualia opened his eyes, he saw Quiet ghost wavering like the reflection of the full moon on water, as it disappeared.
The monster became transparent, and reverted to the shape of a beast person.
