My Twin Sister Was Taken as a Miko and I Was Thrown Away but I’m Probably the Miko – Chapter 456 – Girl and a big conflict – Part three

I can see lots of living beings when I look down from the sky. I can tell monsters call the forest home.

I think it’s good that the monsters that attack us live in the forest like that.

We hunt them for food, but don’t kill them just because. After all, the forest isn’t just ours.

“Ah.”

As I look down, I find people I don’t recognize. They’re knights from Lunid. It looks like they’re fighting a tough battle with monsters, but I’m relieved to see they can manage.

They haven’t noticed me. Actually, it’s more like the fight is giving them no time to look up.

“Hihihin. (They’re looking for the country.)”

“Yes, for us… This is a problem.”

Where we live. Our precious country. They definitely want to get invade.

At the very least, their king does. I hope we can end this peacefully.

“Hn, what if I make it rain?”

“Hihihin. (If it’s too light, they won’t run away.)”

“Yes. And I should save weather manipulation for when there are more people. If I make it rain really hard one time, they might back down.”

“Hihihihin? (That might be better. Should we watch a little longer?)”

“Yes. They probably won’t see us if we’re too high, so can we go up a little more?”

I say, because they might see us here.

People don’t tend to look up. It’s a surprising blind spot. I’m very familiar with the sky, and I love flying, but it’s not the same for them. They won’t look up unless there’s an actual threat, like some sort of sound.

And even if they look up and see us, they aren’t going to see too much from down there.

I keep observing, and use a little magic to pick up on their voices.

“Is there really a country in this forest?”

“Why do we have to be here?”

Hm, it sounds like they think it’s weird. Like they were told to look for a country in the middle of nowhere all of a sudden. It would be one thing if they were interested in this country, but they wouldn’t think to go to a forest full of dangerous monsters without a good reason.

I wouldn’t do that either.

I listen closely, and gather information.

I can understand what the people of Lunid think about this expedition. Of course, the people here don’t speak for everyone, so I can’t assume everyone thinks the same.

“It looks like Lunid isn’t straightforward either.”

“Hihihihinhin! (They have a lot of people!)”

“Yes, and that means lots of ways of thinking. I wish we could talk to their king somewhere. I’m sure things would be better if we had a good relationship with the person at the top.”

But we’d have to make sure we could actually get involved with him. Gaius and I are king, so it can be said we’re in the same position. But this country is a lot newer, so they might think they can do what they want with us.

I keep watching, and I feel a little bad thinking they’ll die if it continues like this. I say a little prayer for them to not be in danger. Just a little.

A miko’s prayer reaches god more easily, but it’s not a proper one, so I don’t think it’ll work too well.

The miko’s state of mind influences everything around her like this.

“Let’s go back.”

“Hihin? (Already?)”

“Yes, we might find more information if we stay for a long time, but I want to go back and tell everyone what I heard.”

I say, and Scifo agrees.

Staying here watching them might make me want to involved. I should talk to everyone about that.

And so, I ride Scifo back home. I see another group, so there’s at least two.

Are they going to keep sending them?

(The miko watches the people of Lunid from above.)
