“Are you going to the dungeon, Sora?”
“That’s the idea.”
“Then we’re going too. I want to test how the blade does when I cut a golem.”
Says Argo before I can say anything. He wants to test the durability of the weapon he just got. I’m sure that’s part of it, but he wants to help us too.
The higher ups in Elesya were a bunch of trash, but for some reason, the adventurers that gathered there tended to be mostly kind and caring people. With people like Argo and Siphon topping the list.
We head to the dungeon, and see a lot of people. There will be a change in two days, but there’s a tingling atmosphere in the air, as people wait in line.
“It looks like people going to the first floor are on the right, and second floor on the left.”
“There are a lot going to the second floor.”
“Apparently there are greater odds of coming across something big.”
The second floor is bigger, and more spawn there. And the odds of a mithril golem spawning are greater.
I can hear people talking about that if I focus. But it’s all about odds, and sure enough, it only appeared on the first floor last time.
That’s why clans that can split into different floors like Ale and Ironhammer do so.
We enter the dungeon, and see some people are still mining. But the noise stops as we head deeper, because there’s no one around. I think the ones by the entrance are there to do some last minute mining and quickly go back.
“Is around here good?”
We walk a bit longer after reaching an area with no people, and settle in an open space.
We’re staying together until the change at least, and taking turns resting.
It will take over a day and a half for the change to happen, so people might come here in the meantime, but there’s an unwritten rule that whoever was there first has precedence. Whoever comes here later should leave.
That’s why some people save their spaces days in advance, because if they’re late, they have to go way to the back.
We’re together for the sake of it being convenient to keep watch, but we’ll move if necessary.
“…I’ve got nothing to do. Can I mine?”
“Be my guest. But can you keep watch?”
I nod, and look for ore with Appraisal.
I’ll dig up what I can quickly retrieve, but if it looks like it will take a while, I’ll leave it.
As a result, I find magic crystal in one spot near the surface, and collect just that.
“Are you done already?”
Asks Argo because I came back very soon.
“There was nothing else I could take in a short amount of time.”
I say, and he understands.
And since they were bored while waiting, Hikari and the others are doing mock battles like always.
Argo and the others join them, and while this is no big deal to me because it happens every time we’re on the road, people who come here to claim spots are surprised.
They see groups doing intense mock battles and retreat, but… We’re not outlaws or anything.
But there are others who get interested, and some join in.
Well, the girls are happy to face different people, but I guess a lot of other adventurers like mock battles too.
Especially ones that are all about physical attacks.
◇ ◇ ◇
Some time later, the change finally comes.
The scenery in the dungeon twists, and magic energy is in unrest.
I have a headache, and so do Chris and Mia. The others seem fine.
After ten minutes, the scenery returns to normal, and monster reactions start popping up in the dungeon. I can see a lot of them on Map too.
There are thirteen golems around us. It’s more than I heard.
“We should split them up and fight.”
Says Argo while he moves out with his party.
“Let’s split in two too.”
We talked about this beforehand, so Hikari, Mia, and I form one group, the childhood friends the other, and we start hunting.
There’s no one around us, probably because of the mock battles. The ones who participated left with their faces twitching and went further back, away from us.
The first thing we face is an iron golem.
“Sora, should I prioritize the magic stones?”
Asks Mia while running with her spear.
“Yes, prioritize getting them while taking them down.”
“Got it. Hikari.”
“Yes, leave this to me and big sister Mia.”
There’s a stone golem behind the iron golem.
“Okay.”
I do that, and face the stone golem.
I pinpoint the magic stone with Magic Energy Detection, and swing the mithril sword.
First, I cut down its attack power by slicing its arms from the shoulders.
Without arms, there are two things it can do, regenerate them or attack with earth magic.
The stone golem chooses the former, and infuses its shoulders with magic energy.
That means it has to stop for a brief moment, and I use that to cut at it with my sword again.,
The magic energy infused mithril sword easily cuts through its body, leaving a diagonal slash that drops its body to the ground. It stops moving, but after a while, starts again.
But I reach towards the magic energy that’s visible through the slash, and take it out. Now it’s staying down.
That’s one. And there’s another iron golem in front of me.
I can hear metallic sounds behind me as Hikari and Mia fight.
I hold my sword tightly, and run towards the iron golem.

Thanks for the treat.
Thanks for this weeks updates, & hope everybody has a good weekend. 😎👍
