I wonder how many hours have passed since night fell in The Abyss.
I can’t use a watch, so I’ve been keeping track of time based on the number of meals. I’ve had thirty, but it doesn’t necessarily mean it’s been ten days.
I eat when either of us is hungry, so maybe it’s been seven or eight.
I’m eating too much? I can’t help it, I burn a lot of calories moving around so much.
They say you can’t fight on an empty stomach, and if you move around when you’re hungry, you’ll lose weight.
…It could very well happen.
I want to part with this fat already, so this might be a good chance for a diet.
Well… I’ll think about it if I get over this predicament.
Monsters have been appearing one after the other for a while. These monsters are varied, and they’re coming like something’s guiding them.
Every time they enter the range of my Spatial Grasp, I use Limit Break to control magic energy, and use my newbie killer technique to eliminate them, but most of the time, I’m too late.
It’s especially bad with monsters that attack with magic from a distance, and being hit by an attack demons use that affects other monsters as well means certain death.
What’s with this?
I’m getting used to the monsters here, but these numbers are gonna kill me.
I thought about using Wind Magic to escape, but I might crash against monsters in the air.
And so, I keep taking down monsters, but it really does feel like there’s something behind these groups.
I’m being forced into Crocodile, bat, and scorpion monster encounters, but as far as demons go, only a mage’s magic comes flying.
But it’s not like there isn’t a warrior. There is, but it’s watching from afar.
So is the warrior leading them? It doesn’t seem likely, I think it’s just waiting to pounce once I’m on the back foot.
I don’t see an end to this, so I keep fighting.
The footing is bad, and fighting on an incline makes it even harder.
Still, I’m burning calories by moving like this, and taking out monsters. I swing down the greatsword, sweep horizontally, slash diagonally, and thrust into their brains.
My breathing is shallow, and I take deep breaths while focusing on fixing it.
I’m mimicking the moves of the weapon store owner even deeper, as I decide how to move around and exterminate monsters.
I’m even more focused on the greatsword of fortitude.
I’ll take them all down, I won’t fall, I will exterminate them all, I tell myself as I amplify my bloodlust in search of more power.
I think about more things with Parallel Thinking, and focus my attention.
I keep Magic Energy Control to a minimum since it’s a waste, pick the best possible spells, and overpower them with magic.
I also focus on Magic Energy Circulation to manage it and make sure it doesn’t go down.
Fuuma is handling the monsters coming from behind me.
Unfortunately, it can’t beat the monsters in The Abyss, but it still uses the rising dragon chakram with magic infused to make sure the monsters stay back.
I draw a circle as I move, and mow down monsters.
I dodge all incoming magic while moving as little as possible, nullify it with the magic mirror shield, or change the trajectory of the magic by creating a flow of magic energy to guide it towards monsters behind me.
It’s a technique of the weapon store owner, but after giving it a shot, I can manage it.
Looking back, I got a lot out of fighting the weapon store owner.
I learned how to use my body, my weapon, my magic energy, how to maintain my stamina, and most importantly, how to fight.
Cause the greatest effect with the least movement.
All I’m doing is using what I copied with Trace, but if I really dig it into me and polish it, it will be just like the real thing.
I believe that as I focus.
I’m fighting, I can’t think about what things.
Focus, focus, speed up extermination of the monsters.
Focus more, accelerate more.
The fighting gets even more intense, and the ground shakes.
Magic fills the air, I dodge it all, and it hits other monsters to become the user’s power.
There are fewer monsters, and a demon clad in darkness is attacking, but I don’t feel threatened.
If anything, I should keep an eye on the four-armed bear approaching from the back.
This bear is bigger than a three story building, has four eyes, and what looks like a red crystal embedded in its forehead.
It has four arms, but two have sharp claws, and two are short and pointy.
This bear monster bites the demon in its way from behind, and threatens the other so it doesn’t get close.
The demon that lost its upper body falls from the bear’s mouth, and all I hear is the metallic sound of its armor.
This is the only time the fighting stops. This vicious bear monster is dominating this place.
The other monsters stand back, not wanting to get involved in what’s about to happen.
I take a deep breath and face it.
