The baby starts crying, and Fuuma motions that it’s thirsty too, so I bring out more water.
Fuuma’s been moving around, so I get it, but the baby just drank milk, so I don’t know why it’s hungry.
I bring it closer, but it doesn’t drink it, it just looks happy watching the shiny water. Does it just like shiny things?
This baby… I’ve been calling it baby for a while now, so maybe I should give it a temporary name. Its parents will correct it when they come for it.
But what? I don’t even know if it’s a boy or a girl, so maybe a name that suits both.
Unfortunately, this baby doesn’t have characteristics that would distinguish its gender like a human. Humanoid demons are separate between men and women, so I guess this isn’t a demon.
It might be a genderless race, or maybe those characteristics are formed when it grows up. So a name that suits both…
It likes shiny things, so Hikari, Hikaru, Kirakira, Kirameki…

It then lets out a kyuah yell like it’s happy, and the area around us is battered with magic energy.
I look at Kirarin, who seems to be shaking from happiness, and the barrage of magic energy changes direction towards me.

I thought anything would be fine because it was temporary, but it doesn’t seem to like it. Actually, if this baby can understand human speech, isn’t it pretty intelligent?
I think about a name again, but Kirarin left too big of an impression, so all the names that come to mind are like that.
I think and think, look at Fuuma with the perpetual spring scarf, and it comes to me.
“Hinata.”
This Abyss world has no sun, but this baby has a red mark on its back like a sun. When I think of the birthmark, I start thinking about it becoming warm like the sun, like spring sunlight filtering through trees, and come up with that name.
Giving it a proper name will make it harder to say goodbye, but I’ll deal with it when it happens.
Baby Hinata goes kyua again, and seems to accept it.
With the name decided, we take a break near the lake and then get moving.
We wander through the forest for five days and nights.
