“What is this form…? What are you…?”
“Cool, right? I took inspiration from my hero. Being the first to experience this power is an honor you don’t deserve.”
Egos suddenly felt overwhelmed by Lost’s ominous form, but his wounded pride called forth emotions of anger.
He did not know who that was, but could not simply ignore someone thoroughly making a fool out of him.
“Punishment…? Screw you!”
Egos picked the axe with the highest stats out of the weapons available to him, and swung it to test it.
After confirming he could use it, he glared at Egos with a raging fire in his eyes.
(This is the strongest weapon available at this point! I’m not gonna lose!!)
He lost to a level two monster armor beast, but he was the main character.
He had high stats from the reincarnation bonus and game knowledge, which were bigger weapons than that axe.
He did not know the combat power of the silver armor in front of him, but… the main character would not lose.
With unshakable confidence in his heart, his willpower and magic energy swelled, and he ran towards Lost while gripping the axe tight.
“I don’t know what you are… but I’m gonna kill you here!!”
He sent magic energy to his arms, boosting his physical strength.
Egos easily swung the two-handed axe that was as heavy as it looked, and used centrifugal force in his attacks.
(This guy might have reincarnated, but he doesn’t know about the game! He’s challenging an axe user wearing armor!!)
In Luminous History, the two-handed axe Egos used was effective against opponents with the heavy equipment attribute.
Some techniques had bonus damage, and he could learn techniques to lower the opponent’s defense.
Challenging an axe user with an armor with the heavy equipment attribute was incredibly foolish to Egos.
He at the very least did not know even the basics of the game… Egos thought with a scornful smile as he glared and roared at Lost, who did not seem to even take a defensive stance.
“This is over! Skill ・Armor Smash!!”
The blade of the axe powered by centrifugal force approached Lost.
Said blade’s sharpness was further boosted by magic energy, and its destructive power increased by the skill that did exactly what it said.
There was no room for doubt, he won.
Lost would not block that attack… Egos had full confidence as he swung to bisect his opponent with a bizarre silver shining form.
“…Ah?”
It felt strange in his hands.
It was not the dull and heavy feeling from when he slashed the body of monster armor beasts. It was a lot lighter, and truly strange.
Clink, was the sound that echoed. At the same time, he felt a numbness running in his hands, and gulped with shock when he realized the axe that was supposed to run through was completely stopped.
Lost calmly blocked an attack that had Egos’ full power, and grabbed it harder after a short sigh.
“Hm, so what is this about…?”
“Nuh! Guh! Fuh! Uu…!?”
That was what Egos was wondering.
Egos pushed with his full strength, tried to pull back, but the axe would not budge.
Lost caught that full power attack with one hand as if he was catching a frisbee, and that was enough to completely seal Egos’ moves.
“What do you think? Am I too strong? Or… are you too weak?”
“Ah!? Aguh…!?”
Lost reached towards Egos with the other hand, and attacked with a dull black and green light.
Egos let go of the axe when faced with this unexpected attack, and let out a scream as he was blown back.
“Hm, more than I expected. Well, it was not easy, and has some downsides… But I guess the biggest reason is that I took inspiration from my hero.”
“Gah, gufuh…! T-this power…!?”
After taking that attack, he knew.
That was not Lost’s full power. He held back as if to test both of their power.
That meant Egos avoided death, and could move properly… but if that little hello of an attack had that much power… Thought Egos as he felt cold sweat on his back.
If Lost attacked with his actual power, Egos would be done.
He gulped as he pictured it, but a greater reality sent a chill down his spine.
(This isn’t right! I have the best weapon and the technique to unleash the greatest effect! So how did he so calmly…!?)
He picked a technique to cause bonus damage to enemy characters with the heavy equipment attribute, which his armored opponent had.
The weapon had the best attack power. He did not feel like anything failed when he executed the skill.
And yet… Lost was unharmed, and calmly blocked the attack.
“It really is hard to use. No wonder it isn’t picked.”
“What are you talking about…? What does that mean!?”
Lost crushed the axe he held, and whispered again as if he was testing his power, confusing Egos.
He could not understand this being with monstrous power, but grabbed another powerful axe and ran forward.
“Diiiiiiiiiiiie!!”
This time he did not use a skill. Perhaps the option disappeared from his head due to panic.
But Lost once again did not get ready to defend, and blocked the axe attack with the armor in his chest.
“…Yes, it hurt a bit. That’s how it is in terms of strength…!”
“Guberooh!?”
After whispering, Lost grabbed Egos by the collar.
He pulled him closer and executed a knee strike to his unguarded stomach, leading Egos to vomit blood and the contents of his stomach as he crumpled.
“Agah… Gah, what? What are you…?”
“Hn~? Yes… I’m no hero, so I suppose fixer (mastermind) or villain would suit me, but right now…”
Something incomprehensible. Something too terrifying.
The enemy that suddenly appeared in front of him seemed absurdly big in his eyes.
Lost smiled under the helmet after hearing Egos’ trembling questions… And after a preface, he looked down at Egos with his shining green compound eyes, and responded.
“I’m your despair.”
