I let Enki and Enril deal with the other goblins as I faced the Champion Goblin, which went down when I bisected its stomach. It was a power type with only four hundred Constitution… And it was three hundred twenty thanks to the debuff, so I tried taking it down without using skills and was successful.
I’ve grown too.
The corpse turns into smoke like always, which rises. Now I want to check if it changes to a rare II…
I keep watching it, and it suddenly rises to a height of about ten meters and flies away.
“…What!?”
I open the map to see where it’s going, and see there’s another goblin settlement in that direction. The map doesn’t show the smoke, but will I see something if I go there…?
“It flew away.”
“I’m sorry master, but I cannot see the smoke. Can you please explain?”
“The smoke flew in that direction. I thought for sure it would spawn here…”
“The conditions to spawn rare monsters here are a mystery.”
“Yes!”
“Anyway, we just have to head over there…”
As I say that, there’s a change on the map.
The red mark of the Champion Goblin over on the other settlement gets bigger, and I can’t see the name anymore.
“…Did it take in the smoke?”
I’ve seen that happen in Unlucky Hall, but not with a rare monster. I don’t know what’s going on, and I won’t until I get there.
We take down goblins along the way, and thirty minutes later, we’re finally in the second settlement.
“Huge…”
The scale of that goblin is clearly off. That’s surely the rare II that ate a rare.
“There’s a giant.”
“It looks like it’s about five meters tall. I’ve never seen a goblin that big.”
“Goblin rare monsters are two or three meters at the tallest, so that’s off the scale.”
“I think it’s fun seeing all the different monsters when I’m with you, big brother.”

I get that it’s bigger and stronger, and the skills are stronger too… But that’s it. It’s still getting debuffed too.
It doesn’t seem to have any special skills, and as far as it being giant goes, I’ve faced plenty of golems, so I’m not intimidated at this point. It also has about thirty normal monsters with it, so it’s the same in terms of numbers.
Let’s just try striking it.

“Hn? You want to try going at it alone?”
‘Gogo.’
“It’s up to you then. Enril, take care of the normal monsters.”

I leave it to them and watch for a few minutes.
The normal monsters are kicked around, and then Enril comes over to me to watch too.

Two out of the four rare II goblins I’ve faced so far had special abilities, like summoning minions, but not this one. Apparently its yell can cause the vertigo effect, but only Kasumi is affected. I have a ring that resists it, and the girls have special necklaces. Suffice to say that it doesn’t work on Enki and the others.
It’s not much of a special ability.
‘Gogoh?’
“Yes, you can take it down.”
‘Goh!’
I’m sure we have enough footage. With that, Enki uses its iron fists to execute a flurry of hits.
Enki’s been enjoying anime where robots fight hand-to-hand against bad guys, I guess because it has the Combat Techniques skill. It gets worked up watching it, and starts punching and kicking in front of the TV.
It looks like a small doll when it watches anime, so it’s cute. But when it’s a five meter giant, every hit is gruesome. And its opponent staggers after just a few hits.
‘Gogoh!’
It ends with an uppercut, and the Giant Goblin turns to smoke.

As I think that, the smoke rises and flies somewhere again.
“Shouta, is that direction…”
“Yes, the last settlement.”
I open the map and see a red mark labeled Goblin Champion. And after a bit, it changes into a big red dot with an unknown name. And there’s a Champion Goblin in the settlement where we were.
When did that get there?
“This floor is full of mysteries.”
“Fufu.”
“You don’t look troubled at all.”
“Master is a dungeon addict.”
“I’m just glad you’re having fun, darling.”
“You’re just like dad right now.”
