I was reincarnated on an island where the strongest species live, so I will enjoy a peaceful life on this island – Chapter 88 – Speaking of him

It’s been a month since Snow became part of our family.

Tiltue and Katima have been coming by more often, and Luna also plays with her, looking like she wants to be her big sister.

Because of that, Snow has been smiling every day, and that smile also soothes us daily.

“Yay!”

“H-hey Snow! Don’t drop the snowman!”

“Hahahahaha”

Snow can control her power, after licking Yggdrasil nectar, but she still has that childish sense of freedom. And she’s currently exercising that freedom on Tiltue, and making Luna laugh.

Seeing those three kids play is very charming, so Reina and I are watching from the window.

“Good grief, she’s getting her clothes dirty again.”

“Hahaha, well, that’s just how kids are.”

There’s snow outside thanks to Snow’s power. Apparently there aren’t four seasons on this island, and the weather is mild all year long.

But still, sometimes there are changes in the environment brought on by the strongest races.

For example the strange phenomenon that is snow falling even though the temperature is average.

Suddenly, I feel a strong power I’ve been getting used to lately, so I look up, and see a small, black space in front of me wavering.

“Oh, Miss Sheryl.”

“…She doesn’t have to look from there, she could just come here.”

“Well, she has her own things in mind, so let’s leave her be.”

By the way, I feel a similar strong power from the ground, so I’m sure Mister Giarth is hiding. I pretend I don’t notice it.

“Mister Guen isn’t here, so I guess it’s his turn this week.”

The alfar village needs the protection of great spirits, so one of them has to stay close.

They do it in turns, so I guess it’s Mister Giarth’s turn next week. But I imagine he’s going to complain and Miss Sheryl is going to punish him.

“Those great spirits just feel like grandpas and a grandma.”

“That’s the feeling I got when I first met them.”

It’s been a while since I got here, so maybe I’m getting used to the mood of this island, or rather, what’s common sense here.

“Oh, Arata, the other morning when you were out, Gyes came here.”

“Eh? Gyes?”

“Yes. I guess Gram bragged about ‘bro’ dropping by, and he couldn’t resist.”

“Ah…”

Gyes is the young leader of the demon gods, and Gram is the young leader of the ancient dragons.

Both grew up fighting people their age to learn the name of the ancestors lying inside them.

To learn your ancestor, you need to fight strong opponents, and since Tiltue already knew hers was Bahamut, they sort of left her out.

Well, even if they had that reason, I couldn’t let Tiltue feel lonely like that, so I intervened, and…

“I didn’t expect them to take to me like that.”

A group of demon gods and ancient dragons versus me seems very imbalanced, but it ended in a decisive victory for me.

Ever since then, they haven’t left Tiltue out of their battles, and sometimes go wild against me, but it’s fun.

“Well, they value strength above all else.”

“They call you sis and big sis too.”

They have a habit of eating together after going crazy fighting.

Demon gods and ancient dragons don’t usually get along, but have a good time together when they’re eating. And they make sure to include Tiltue too.

But it wasn’t always like that. It was because of Reina’s pressure when Gyes and Gram fought, and turned over a table, ruining the food that was on it.

“I honestly felt afraid for my life too…”

“Ah, well, it wasn’t my fault, was it!?”

At that moment, all the ancient dragons and demon gods sat down cross-legged, and bowed to Reina.

Everyone learned that there are opponents you shouldn’t fight.

When I saw that, I once again thought that what’s really at the top of the food chain on this island is Reina when it’s time to eat or cook.

“I beat them every time and they respect my strength, but they listen to you more.”

“E-enough of that! You should go to the demon god’s village like you promised, or that boy is going to keep sulking.”

That boy she’s talking about is the huge Gyes. I guess from her point of view, he’s a kid like Snow?

“It has been a while since I promised…”

I went to the ancient dragons’ village with Tiltue the other day to get more Yggdrasil nectar for Snow, and saw Gram there.

And apparently he bragged to Gyes about it.

Those two really can’t accept losing to the other.

“Then let’s go to the demon god’s village next time Gyes comes here.

“Yes. From what I’ve heard, a lot of the clothing on this island comes from them, so I’m kind of looking forward to seeing it.”

“Eh…”

The inhabitants of this island don’t really interact with other groups all that much, but they still trade things they’re good at making.

For example, alfar like Katima don’t get along with elves or divine beast people, but they still trade things like the food available to them, and stuff like rare tools from the ancient dragons are used to trade too.

Also, I didn’t know this, but the clothes people like Luna wear were made by demon gods.

They’re good with their hands and make all sorts of tools, so they trade those clothes for things like food with other races.

“Now that I think about it, Luna’s clothes kind of look like what a miko would wear.”

“Miko?”

“Ah, you don’t know that. Hum, in my world… I guess they serve god?”

“…Like saints?”

“Yes, I guess so. Well, the traditions are completely different, so their clothes are too.”

I remember Ceres, the saint I met when I was summoned. She wasn’t dressed like a miko, but I guess the impression is the same.

Anyway, the fact that it’s an old Japanese style gets me curious. Guys like that sort of Japanese clothing.

“Is big bro here!?”

And as I think about that, I hear a loud voice outside.

Only one person calls me that.

“Speaking of him…”

“Yes.”

We invite Gyes inside and listen to what he has to say.
