I’m unemployed but I’m exploring the dungeon again today – Chapter 124 – Hundred and eighty-sixth day – II – Part two

Lastly, I’m taken to the courtyard.

There I see a lot of flowers, as well as a bare but fine tree. This is a normal tree without magic energy, but I remember seeing it somewhere.

I sit on a chair while trying to remember where I saw it, and Seijyu offers me tea.

I say thanks, take the cup, and sip.

Mu, this is poison! Nah, I just drink it normally. It’s a very easy to drink herbal tea, and I take a breather.

“How do you like our home?”

“By home, do you mean the Church of Minsul?”

“Yes. We all call this our home where we should return.”

“I don’t really get it, but it’s a nice place. Everyone’s smiling.”

Yes, many people here were harmed by seekers. We care for them in that way. We help them get back on their feet, and the Church of Minsule is proud to be doing the right thing.”

Seijyu looks directly at me.

“So won’t you join us and spread the correct teachings to the world?”

“No thank you.”

I sip herbal tea and exhale.

Fuuma is yawning like it’s bored.

“…Excuse me?”

Seijyu’s beautiful face distorts, like she didn’t hear my reply.

“I said no thank you.”

“Why? Your Healing Magic could truly save the world.”

“It doesn’t have to be me, right?”

“That is not true, you are not like the average Healing Magic user. You seem oblivious to it, but healing physical problems in such a short amount of time is not possible for the average Healing Magic user.”

“Really?”

“Yes, and you do it easily. No other Healing Magic user has been blessed with such magic energy.”

“You’re exaggerating, there are others. Yes, like you.”

Suddenly, the air turns tense.

Her unfeeling eyes are on me.

I respond with a bold smile, but I’m clearly just putting it on.

The pressure exuding from her is crazy. Fuuma picks up on it, and neighs like it’s facing a monster.

“You overestimate me, I don’t have such power.”

“Really? At the very least, you have more magic energy than me. And you use Healing Magic, at the very least better than me.”

“You talk like you know.”

“I don’t but it looks like I’m right. You don’t need me if you’re around, right?”

“There’s a limit to how much one person can do. Won’t you think it over?”

“I can’t.”

“Why?”

“I don’t like you.”

“…Ah?”

She looks perplexed, like she doesn’t understand what I mean.

I’ve said what I wanted to say, so I get up to leave.

I came here to get a reward, but I’m giving up on it at this point. Who knows what they’ll do to me if I hang around.

“Wait! What about me don’t you like!? Is it because I didn’t give you a reward!?”

Looks like that was on purpose.

But that’s fine at this point. It’s not nice, but if she’s frustrated, that’s good enough.

“Hn, you remind me of someone I don’t like.”

“Someone you don’t like? Who?”

“You probably don’t know him, but you remind me of a man called Kuroitsu.”

She’s painted with bloodlust and her magic energy goes crazy.

I take the greatsword of fortitude from my Storage Space, and swing at the light coming at me from the front.

“Who did you say I was like!!?”

Her beautiful face is painted with anger, and she glares at me like a mountain witch. Her bloodlust makes vegetation shake, and the temperature around us drops rapidly.

“Guh!?”

I infuse the greatsword of fortitude with magic energy to block this light that has mass, but I can’t block it completely and the light that bounces hits my body and burns it.

It makes me want to say that it’s like a beam from Ultraman, but this force is no joke.

“Dammit!!”

I yell as I use Earth Magic to create a wall in front of me, but fail.

“What!?”

I can’t use magic. I’m controlling magic energy, but it doesn’t take shape.

I infuse the greatsword of fortitude with magic energy to resist the light with a Projectile Slash.

“Ryah!”

The Projectile Slash rips through the light and heads towards Seijyu, but her white cloth turns into a sword that erases it.

What was that, I want to yell, but she moves first.

“Who am I like!? You fat pig!!”

“Isn’t that just nasty!? Limit Break!!”

I put the question of whether she knows Kuroitsu in the back of my mind as I focus on what’s in front of me.

The greatsword and cloth sword clash, and the impact makes flowers fly. We clash again, and again, and the impact breaks the glass in the building’s windows and violently shakes trees.

Seijyu sees the damage, clicks her tongue, and changes her offense. She takes a step back, and water gushes from under me.

I saw the flow of magic energy, so I take a big jump back.

That water is magic. I don’t know its effect, so I can’t carelessly approach it.

“Seijyu, I apologize if I said something rude, so can you stop?”

I honestly don’t see myself winning this.

That damn Kuroitsu, that weapon store owner… Lately I feel like I’ve been cursed with fighting opponents I can’t possibly beat.

I’m hoping she’ll return to normal and stop fighting, but her eyes are filled with killing intent.

Just how much of a landmine was mentioning Kuroitsu?

“I won’t stop until you’re crying!”

“That’s fine, I can cry all you want.”

“Scream!”

The water disappears, turning into small particles like mist.

“Gaha!?”

Suddenly, I can’t breathe and vomit blood.

Blood rushes up as I struggle. I don’t know when it happened, but she’s attacking with that mist.

I try to use Wind Magic to blow it away, but it fails to activate again.

“What…”

I can’t breathe, and fall to my knees.

The greatsword of fortitude is stabbed into the ground, and I can’t muster up the strength to stand.

“Oh? Sorry, it seems you stopped moving before crying.”

She looks down at me with a merciless smile.

She doesn’t look like a saintess, I want to call her a demon.

She raises her cloth sword to deal the finishing blow, but wind blows her away.

“Kyah!? What!?

The wind also takes the mist. I gag, desperate to breathe, and look at who I assume made that wind blow.

Fuuma. It created the wind and saved me.

It’s still looking at Seijyu like it’s threatening her, levitating chakram ready to attack at any moment.

But its legs are also shaking. It’s scared of Seijyu. It neighs, trying its best to push that fear down, but it can’t erase it.

“That horse used magic… Is it a summoned beast? Tanaka, I want you to cry a little more.”

Her smile deepens.

If she’s a saintess, all women in this world are goddesses.

I drink a potion, and when I’m able to talk, I ignore Seijyu and call out to Fuuma.

“Fuuma! Run!!”

“Hihin!!”

Fuuma responds by using wind magic, the same irritating magic it has used several times.

“I won’t let you!”

She tries to stop us from escaping, and controls magic energy to cast something.

I want to use magic to counter it, but for some reason, only I am unable to use magic. So I infuse what I have left into the greatsword of fortitude to resist her.

Light is released from Seijyu, and it clashes against the Projectile Slash.

But only for a moment, as the Projectile Slash is quickly swallowed and the light approaches me.

Still, that annoying Bazoom is activated, and a tornado blows us far away.

“I’ll remember this!!!”

I say while giving her the middle finger like a poor loser, and we successfully escape.
