“Ah, I’m tired. I’ve never had a battle smart like this before… I want sugar…”
I’m so tired, that I close my eyes and lie on the ground.
It feels like my body is screaming, but it’s not pain, it’s exhaustion.
I had to run around the forest a lot during this fight, but thanks to my high Constitution, I don’t have a single scratch. And I wasn’t hit directly by the murder rabbit either.
Is that because of my Luck? Because of how I fought… I can’t tell.
“Ahh… I could even nibble on a sugar cube right now…”
The exhaustion is sending my thoughts in a weird direction. But this is a dungeon, and even though there aren’t any monsters in this forest, that’s probably because of the threat of the rare monster.
I can’t stay here like this forever.
Just seeing that smoke sent the monsters running. That means that this forest was probably empty because of it. And now that the rare monster is dead, this place should become a paradise for them again soon.
Apparently Automatic Mapping really only shows me what was visible to me on this floor. That means that when visibility gets bad, like in this forest, only a narrow range gets mapped.
Thankfully, playing tag like that around the forest means I actually mapped its circumference.
And so, if monsters come here, I’ll know right away.
But still, if they ran like crazy from the smoke, does that mean monsters fear rare ones through means we humans can’t detect?
“Hn? Smoke?”
I feel like I’m forgetting something, so I slowly sit up.
And I see what remains of the smoke overflowing from that big bunny.
“…Ugeh!!”
I get up quickly like a bomb went off. But the smoke clears at the same time. I guess it’s done releasing smoke.
“…Ah, thank goodness. I completely forgot because I was so tired, but the next one could’ve spawned. Why was I lying here so carefree… And I was lost in thought for a while too, and it kept releasing smoke all that time. Is it just because it was big?”
It was like a giant boar, but I don’t think the hobgoblin was that different in terms of size. The real difference is that the murder rabbit was ten levels higher. Does that mean the higher the level, the more time it takes to disappear?
I need to look into that. I should bring a timer from now on.
“Anyway, let’s check the loot and appraise.”
1: Murder rabbit twisted horn x2
2: Murder rabbit fur
3: Medium magic stone
4: Skill: Swift
“Swift? That should make it easier to fight another one of these. Ah… Let’s check the dungeon network application. Let’s see, Swift… Swift… Here it is.”
‘Once the skill is used, the user’s speed is multiplied by three. Also, further acceleration is possible through a running start, but the user’s body will not hold without the appropriate Constitution. Market price, sixty million.’
I close the application again after seeing the price. It’s clearly higher than Super Strength.
If I presented this, the branch manager would let Maki be my exclusive for sure. But it’d be tough to fight that again without this skill, even if I got steel equipment.
I’m sure it will be easier after I roll the gacha, but if I face it again without a skill, I’m probably going to have to rely on that same strategy…
“…There’s no point thinking about it, let’s just roll the gacha.”
I ignore the decision of how I’m going to use the skill, put my SP into luck, and press the ten spins button twice.
Clank clank clank.
I get one purple, fourteen blue, and five red capsules.

“So this time it’s Water Magic? I’m curious, but also tired. I wanna go back… But the gacha is almost empty… And I’m level five…”
Basically, my mind is demanding sugar, but my heart is screaming that it wants to see what’s ahead.
Thankfully, my stats are even higher than before. Hey, my Physical Strength is past ninety! I think I’m about the same as the average person between level twenty and thirty.
Well, it’s kind of sad how after rolling the gacha so much, I’m at about the point where I’m just barely above those stalkers… But the skills put me at an advantage compared to other adventurers, that much is certain.
“…And I want to roll more to go even higher. Not to mention that it doesn’t feel right to leave it with ten capsules.”
In the end, I abandon the option to go back, and start leveling up. The sword I always used is out of action, but thankfully, I have iron knives dropped by goblins. It’s kind of annoying, but I have to use them.
I do a few practice swings to get used to using a knife, but strangely enough, no monsters come back to the forest. And so, I hunt goblins and killer rabbits near the river and on the plain.
And of course, I make sure not to hunt a hundred of the same in a row.
