“This light is warm…”
I hold up my spear, while looking more closely at the deep crimson light enveloping it. The light sways, following the tip of my spear as I move it and leaving a trace behind. I can feel warmth coming from it when I put the tip of the spear close to my face.
The pale light being emitted by the fluids of the enemies I’ve defeated faintly illuminates this cave, and the deep crimson light emanating from my spear then dyes that light.
I can only vaguely see inside the cave, and I have been fighting with the help of my future sight ability, but the deep crimson light has made even its details more clear.
“It’s different from the cold purifying light…”
I hold up my spear towards the giant pill bug.
As it sees the bright light of my spear, it looks like it’s afraid of it. I see it shrinking back.
But then, as if there is some sort of signal that I don’t sense, the giant pill bug stops.
It sticks out one leg towards me and attacks, although it looks like it really doesn’t want to.
“Ah, I see. You don’t like this crimson light.”
I follow my future sight, hold my spear by the middle of its handle, and spin it so the tip faces down.
The enemy’s leg is aiming for my own. Before, it was so tough that it was all I could do to repel it, but now, just by holding the spear in place, the leg splits in half the moment it touches the tip of the spear, and without much resistance.
The easily cut leg falls to the ground, and this time the giant pill bug uses its remaining legs to scramble away from me.
My future sight activates again, and the vision I see makes my face twist unintentionally.
Yelling something like the name of an attack during battle is quite embarrassing.
I know very well that I am here alone, but I still look back to check.
Actually, there is a chance that Master Rust or Lady Kalin decided to come after me. I don’t really want them to see this but… Ahh… If I’m going to try it, it might as well be now that no one is watching.
“Skill 『Ground Running』!!”
I yell exactly as I saw, and touch the tip of my spear to the ground.
The crimson light then gathers in one spot on the tip of my spear, and creeps on the floor of the cave towards the fleeing giant pill bug.
It doesn’t take long for the crimson light to reach it, and then, there is silence for a moment.
The silence is broken by crimson light bursting from the giant pill bug, before chunks of its body are sent flying everywhere like it exploded.
