Why are there two methods? Because it takes a lot of magic energy to artificially perform a summoning. Apparently the goddess performs a summoning when the other option isn’t available.”
And it sounds like the goddess summons people when there’s been considerable damage done already. And I guess Yutaka thinks it’s to inflict some punishment on humanity.
Also, it sounds like there have been eras with more than one summoning rituals, probably because the demon king fought off the people who were summoned at first. But lately, one summoning has been enough.
It’s probably because the ones summoned are trained thoroughly until there’s no doubt that they’ll defeat the demon king, before being sent out to fight it.
Afterwards, he continued observing, and over the years, put together a fighting force, and even took steps to save descendants of otherworlders, who were being used by the Kingdom of Elesya.
But before he could do that, something happened.
“It was sudden. After spending hundreds of years together, one day, Lorna was chosen to become a demon king.”
