Walking in another world – Chapter 404 – Migration plans – Part two

No one else comes by after we join the line.

The sun is almost setting, so I think people just wanted to get in there before then. I guess most people really don’t like camping.

And me? I’m used to it.

But when I actually say that…

“Master, that’s wrong.”

“You can’t call that camping anymore.”

“Sora, I don’t think that’s quite right either.”

“Right?”

Everyone in my party has something to say.

When it gets to our turn, there’s some trouble.

Not everyone here has identification, but people without it can still enter if they pay.

So what’s the issue? Something a guard says.

“Ah, Rurika, Chris, and Sera. The kids are gonna be happy… H-hag!?”

Morrigan explodes with a straight right punch.

Argo unleashes bloodlust, and has an expression on his face like he’s trying to kill someone with his eyes.

Guilford and the others are desperately trying to pacify him, with one of them holding his arms from behind.

I’m glad no one else is here. Imagine the mess if there were still people in line.

And I’m glad the ones that were in front of us are already inside and can’t see us. I’m sure they were in a rush because they were worried about not finding an inn.

“W-what’s going on!?”

Guards hear the commotion, and come out of the station near the gate.

A big bearded man is in front, and it feels like my neck would hurt if I was facing him.

I didn’t see him last time we were here.

The large man’s eyes raise when he sees the gatekeeper on the ground, but then he suddenly stops and stands straight without moving.

“M-Miss Morrigan!”

“Hn? Well if it isn’t this snotty kid. It’s been a while.”

“Yes! You’re as beautiful as always, Miss Morrigan.”

“Stop the flattery. Just take care of the formalities so we can go inside.”

No one points out that she’s the reason why it’s taking so long. We all love ourselves too much for that.

Hikari would usually chime in with a pointed remark, but she’s silent. Ah, she’s rubbing her stomach, so she only has food on her mind.

And that bearded man… The captain of the guards, finishes the process for us to get in without any issues.

Of course, despite having an acquaintance among us, people without identification still have to pay.

Incidentally, the reason why Naoto and the others have no identification is that Elesya wanted to restrict their freedom. Morrigan knows that, so she talked about getting them identification while we’re dealing with the migration.

The simplest way is to join a guild here, like the adventurer guild, but Naoto and the others are still deciding what they’re going to do.

Apparently the gatekeeper Morrigan hit was raised by her, like Rurika, Sera, and Chris.

And she hit him on sight…

“That little brat.”

She actually sounds a little happy.

“It’s changed quite a bit.”

She says, looking nostalgic, but it feels like the town has changed since the last time we were here too.

Actually, it’s not really the center of the town, as much as the area around it.

It was a wasteland, but now it’s farmland.

“Hn, I think it’s because it was never a land that was suited for farming.”

“Ah, that probably changed thanks to Sora.”

Morrigan tilts her head, and Rurika explains.

I did make that soil medicine, but we still don’t know if that’s what did it.

I try to correct them, because it’d be really embarrassing if that turned out to be wrong, but we arrive at our destination before I can.

“This place changed a little too.”

Morrigan stops and looks up, and someone rushes out the door.

It’s Filo, who opens her eyes widely when she sees Morrigan.

“Morrigan!”

She says before hugging her.

“Oh my, I was thinking that you’ve grown so much, but you’re still a crybaby.”

“B-but…”

“Fufu, I’m joking. I’m sorry, it looks like I caused a lot of problems. I heard all about it from them.”

Filo then realizes there are other people here, and quickly lets go of Morrigan. But then someone in particular catches her eye, and she’s surprised again.

“I-is that you, Eris?”

“Yes, Filo. It’s been a while.”

“Geez, it hasn’t ‘been a while’. You always look like you have it together, but you’re too laid back like this. But I see, you found Eris too. I’m so glad.”

Filo approaches Eris, and hugs her and pats her head.

“Filo, we have other guests too. Can we come in?”

“Yes… But I think it’s going to get cramped in here with so many people.”

Yes, there sure are a lot of people here.

“We can go to an inn.”

“…I don’t think you’re going to find one. A lot of people are coming this way.”

Filo says Argo’s proposition is going to be difficult to do.

“Then how about the boys camp in that empty lot? There should be plenty of space if it’s just the girls.”

I say, thinking back to the space I used last time.

If I build a house, we’ll be safe from the wind and rain too. I can’t go as far as to make beds, so we’ll still be sleeping on the ground, but it’ll be fine if I make it flat and easy to rest on.

I tell Filo I want to make a house with magic, and she gives me the go ahead, but I don’t know if I properly communicated what I’m thinking.

And just before I leave, Chris and the others smile awkwardly and step in.

“We will explain.”

I guess it will be fine then.

It’s getting dark, so I use Earth Magic that’s just big enough for nine guys to sleep in.
