Walking in another world – Chapter 757 – Avid dungeon – Part twenty-six

“Master, how long is that Controlled going to last?”

Asks Hikari as I take a tartaruga corpse from Argo.

“Hey hey, you can tell?”

“Yes. I can if it’s you.”

Hikari nods with a serious expression, and Argo looks at us like he’s asking what it is.

What is it indeed.

Anyway, I use the Farsight skill to look at the tartarugas. I use a Clock skill on the status condition after using Appraisal, and see a timer.

“About an hour. If I’m not mistaken.”

“An hour… What will happen then?”

I’m curious too.

They’ve been looking around to see if there are any enemies, but will they go back to the lake once they regain their senses?

We can’t attack them in the lake, so if possible, I’d like to take a few down now.

Of course, one will leave the lake if we wait long enough, but who knows when that will be.

“I want to hunt a few now that we have the chance.”

“We can’t attack them if they are underwater.”

“But there’s so many.”

Say the childhood friends Rurika, Chris, and Sera.

Everyone’s thinking the same, I guess.

I’d be happy if I could hunt even just one, but it’d be hard to draw one out from that group. After all, Provoke isn’t working for some reason.

Provoke isn’t a magic skill, so why? Appraisal, See Through, and Clock are all working.

“Can’t you Transfer one here?”

Asks Argo as we’re all thinking.

“It’s too big.”

Even if it worked, I don’t know how much MP it would take to use it on that giant body.

It could also fail like Provoke.

“I could give it a shot.”

Still, if it works, it will change our future hunts a lot. And trying is free.

Depending on how much MP it takes, our method of flipping them over won’t be viable right away, but I’m sure they can take it down without me.

“But shouldn’t we wait at least until Controlled runs out?”

Guilford is cautious. Then maybe we’ll do it right when it runs out.

“That’s a good idea. I blocked the attacks, but they felt a little strong. It’s hard to tell because each individual is different, but we should be careful.”

Harold and Clift nod in agreement with what Rick said.

If they also feel that way, the monsters might be stronger under Controlled.

I use the Farsight skill, and cast Appraisal on them one at a time.

I also check how long until the skill runs out with Clock, and set a timer on the one that will run out last.

The difference is in seconds, but it looks like they don’t all run out at the same time.

And so, we rest as we wait. Neither the hydra or the tartarugas we just fought were weak monsters. And in thirty minutes, we’ll be fighting those not weak tartarugas again.

“Sora, can you bring two of them with Transfer if it doesn’t tax you too much?”

Asks Argo just as I was thinking they’re not easy to take down.

“Are you sure?”

“Yes, we’re used to them now. And we have ways to take them down.”

Rick nods. If he’s nodding, it should be okay.

“Hey, why did looking at Rick convince you?”

Ah, he noticed.

“It’s just the difference in how you two always act.”

Guilford is right, but I won’t say it.

Guilford and Rick are the most cautious in Argo’s party. They don’t stand out because of Argo, but Harold and Clift tend to be pretty reckless too.

“Well, fine. So how about it?”

“…I can try, but where should I bring them?”

“Yes, not too close or we don’t know what they’ll do. How about over there and there?”

Argo points at two spots.

I ask again how they’re going to handle two, and they’re splitting into a group of Argo and Rick, and Guilford, Harold, and Rick. We’re going to split up too.

“I’m sorry I can’t do anything against tartarugas.”

“Don’t worry about that. There are things you can fight and we can’t handle too.”

Argo says to a concerned Chris.

I’m sure he’s right. It’s all about compatibility.

Then I ask how they’re going to fight, as we wait.

As the time draws near, I start to get a little nervous. We’ve been talking and preparing, but what if it doesn’t work?

“Well, if it can’t be done, it can’t be done. Just take it easy.”

Says Argo as he taps my back with a smile.
