Walking in another world – Chapter 763 – Skill ・ 3D

I called Map underwater and used Presence Detection and Magic Energy Detection. I saw some reactions on Map, but there was a problem. Map is flat, so I had no idea how deep the monsters were.

Even if I advance slowly with Transfer, I can only hold my breath for so long.

I can create a film of wind to secure some oxygen, but my MP might not hold if I maintain it while using Transfer.

First, I’ll try to Transfer close to the monsters.

Monsters… It will be tartarugas this time, but I have to get their attention and lead them to the surface.

I have to adjust the Transfer distance. If I’m too far, I might miss the target.

Going is fine, but coming back…

There’s also a chance they won’t follow me if I keep using Transfer, but I’ll think about it then.

…Maybe I really should learn another skill. Something that helps me breathe underwater?

With it at level one, it will let me breathe for one minute. So is that added to the time I can stay here?

Apparently each level up extends it by one minute.

It would be useful here, but I feel like I won’t get to use it again.

Maybe there are more places to fight underwater in other dungeons… Or not.

There are three dungeons left, besides this one, and according to Naoto and the others, the one in Prekes is a field type, with no water.

I cross my arms and look at the skill list again.

If nothing else catches my eye, I’ll learn something that lets me breathe underwater… How about this?

【3D】

Apparently this lets me see things I saw in 2D in 3D. Is this for Map?

I think it will also help me visualize and shape equipment in more detail when I’m making it.

New

3D Lv1

That cost me one skill point, but nothing really changed.

Ah, I have to turn it on.

I call Map, and there’s a message asking if I want to change it.

I press yes, and it switches to a 3D map. Oh, now I can see where monsters are underwater. I get a good feel for height differences too.

I take a deep breath, and designate a target for Transfer with Map. It’s ten meters ahead, five meters deep.

Even I wouldn’t go to where the monsters are without testing.

What I see changes, so Transfer worked, but I close my eyes without thinking. I should use goggles.

I keep one eye closed as I look at Map and use Transfer.

I’m now on the surface again.

I think I can go to the monsters and lead them to the surface.

I take monster materials out of the Item Box, and craft underwater goggles.

With these on, I move underwater again, and this time water doesn’t touch my eyes and my vision is good.

I check the MP usage too, but it’s no different.

That’s all the checks I had to do, but I don’t think we can hunt today.

I could call everyone, but some are mining, some are taking monsters apart, and some are cooking. Argo and the others in particular are having too much fun mining. The biggest hurdle in mining is whether or not you find ore, or so I think anyway. I guess mining where you know you’ll find something is fun.

Although I can see some people preferring the suspense of whether or not they will find something.

We need to get together and think about this, so first, I head to where Mia and the others are cooking.

It’s less to help and more to take what’s ready.

Then I take monsters that are done being taken apart, and lastly, I help Argo and the others mine. And I mine too. I could always use good ore.

I’m not going to find anything like mithril, but I still get some good things.

Also, now I can clearly see how far I have to dig thanks to 3D.

“So Sora, how was the thing you wanted to test?”

Asks Argo, as he approaches with hammer in hand.

“I think it will work out. We’ll hunt tomorrow.”

“Then we should hit a good stopping point.”

“Make sure you’re not tired tomorrow.”

Says Guilford while wiping sweat.

I cast Purification magic on him, and mine a little more.

I hear Argo say he wants alcohol, and the others agree.

The monster encounter rate is low here compared to other dungeons, but still, drinking in a dungeon… Well, the dwarves do it.

They’ve been with us for a long time, so after we leave, maybe I’ll treat them to a feast and alcohol I’ve picked up in various places.
