“So, should I use Transfer?”
We’ve reached the conclusion that we don’t need to bait the tartarugas to hunt them.
If I know where they are, I can touch them and cast Transfer. The problem was whether I could do it underwater, but I realized it yesterday before going to sleep, and after testing it, I did it without any issues.
I see everyone nod, call out Map, and use the 3D skill.
I figured I could Transfer far away with this new Map, but I can’t because it uses too much MP.
I put on goggles, take a deep breath, and use Transfer.
What’s in front of me changes, and I feel pressure. By using Farsight and Night Vision, I see a tartaruga twenty meters in front of me. It’s the only one here.
The moment I see it, the tartaruga raises its head and looks around.
When it turns my way, I use transfer again, so I’m on its back.
I don’t move as I’d like, because I’m underwater, but I can touch the spikes coming out of its shell.
I focus magic energy, and use Transfer.
What’s in front of me changes again, and I see the sky.
The tartaruga is confused, and starts flapping its limbs. It must sense danger, because it then pulls them and its head inside the shell.
This is its first course of action.
I don’t know if it has good judgment or if it’s instinct, but this time it’s a bad move.
As I allow gravity to take me down, I use Transfer on myself to land on the ground, and then hear a loud sound.
The tartaruga cracked the ground on impact, but its shell is fine. But the next moment, magic energy overflows from underneath it, and lifts its shell.
The shell flips in the air, and falls back down.
Argo and the others jump in to attack.
The tartaruga comes out of the shell, sensing something isn’t right, but it’s too late.
Its flapping limbs slowly lose their strength until it stops moving.
I look at Map, and the reaction is gone.
“Should we take a break and do it again?”
Asks Argo while wiping sweat.
It looked easy, but they were swinging their weapons for close to ten minutes after the shell was flipped. It’s easier to attack it that way, but only compared to attacking the shell.
It might not feel like a long time, but it has to be tiring when they’re attacking with all they have.
I’ll gladly take a break too. Unlike doing it on the surface, this is pretty tiring.
I ended up walking around during the battle, because it freed me from exhaustion. Maybe that’s why Argo and the others proposed we take a break.
We end taking down two more, meaning we took down nine in three days.
We already had the magic stones we need, but we hunted them just for the materials and meat.
“Should we check now?”
We don’t need to hunt any more if we’re going to open the door and enter the boss room.
Judging by what I see on Map, we’d have to go pretty deep to get magic stones we haven’t gotten already.
“Sounds good, but should we go out first?”
We can be safe, and we can sleep comfortably because we have beds, but we’re still in a dungeon.
“…No, how about we rest tomorrow and then check the boss room? We can both rest and check our equipment.”
Argo nods as he hears Guilford and the others.
“Are you sure?”
I ask just to confirm.
“Yes, we can tend to our own equipment. We’ve checked, and nothing’s that bad. And we don’t know if Herc and the others will be there if we go out, or if we can take it easy in a rented house.”
He says.
The town is in chaos after that whole mess, and I’m curious about what the clans sent from the capital are doing.
There’s also the fact that the guild falsely accused us. And restrictions on who can enter the third floor.
“Okay. Let’s just move a little today.”
I say while calling Map.
I enlarge it with magic energy, and don’t see any reactions from people in the direction of the wasteland.
“I guess I’ll use Transfer.”
I want to walk, but we’re pretty far from the center.
It would take days to get there. It’d be different if we used the golem wagon.
After confirming that everyone’s gathered around me, I use Transfer.
Suddenly we’re in a barren land. We’re close to the center, but I can’t see the staircase we used to get on the third floor.
I brought us here a little far away because while there isn’t anyone here now, someone might come down while we’re resting.
No one knows what might happen.
I use Earth Magic to prepare the ground, and build walls around our campsite.
