With gacha over with, we casually cross the third floor, and greet the adventurers waiting by the entrance to the fourth.
“Hey, Shouta! You’re late, I was worried that you got yourself in trouble.”
“Ah, I made a big discovery on the second floor, so I spent time investigating and reporting it. It should be announced on the homepage of the branch soon.”
I say, and everyone checks it on their smartphones.
“New monsters on the second floor!?”
“Four rare ones!?”
“How are you doing this in so little time?”
“Ah, more work to do…”
“The Rare Monster Hunter’s no joke…”
“This guy just casually made another legend.”
I feel like I heard the sorrowful voice of a guild employee mixed in there, but I’m sure they understand.
“Thanks for coming anyway, but are you sure? These rare monsters don’t look weaker than unique bosses. I feel bad for having you do this after that series of fights…”
“Eh? It’s okay, I ate and got plenty of healing from the girls.”
“Is that really the issue? Geez, you really are a dungeon addict. Maybe we should learn from that, but I haven’t reached that level yet…”
…Hn? Dungeon addict?
“Uhe, that’s the Rare Monster Hunter.”
“We were right to narrow down the skills.”
“Yes.”
“There’s no room for anyone else in that lovey-doveyness.”
“Yes… Wait, is that a new girl?”
“Yes, black hair and Japanese clothes… Nice.”
“Her face is nice, but her figure is something else. Is she the fifth?”
“He found a new girl before we even found one?”
“Where did he get her? I’ve never seen her.”
“I see that sort of equipment a lot in area two, but it’s not produced here. Did he find her while traveling?”
As I talk with Shuu, interest around me suddenly turns to Kasumi. Their eyes aren’t unpleasant, more like curiosity, but…
Well, what brother would be upset about his little sister being praised…
Ah… Sorry Shouta, they don’t mean anything bad.”
“It’s fine. I’ll introduce her. This is my little sister, who saw that interview and came from our hometown. Kasumi, say hello to everyone.”
“I’m Kasumi, Shouta’s sister! I’m here to watch him today!”
Kasumi bows, and some guys hold their chests and look dizzy.
…You’re not getting my little sister.
“So she’s joining us for a few days, but don’t worry, she won’t hold us back.”
“Okay. I’ll tell the message board too.”
“Thanks… So where am I hunting?”
Shuu then pulls up a map of the fourth floor on his smartphone. It’s a simple one provided by the association, but a lot of information has been added. And he’s casually showing us something that valuable.
“No one has been in this area today. That means the encounter rate of goblins and orcs should be high, so I recommend making it spawn in one of these goblin positions.”
Shuu is showing me the goblin settlements furthest from the adventurer camp. One of them is where I spawned and defeated it a month ago.
“Shuu, did you leave this intentionally?”
“Haha, yes. Depending on the dungeon, there might be patterns to how monsters appear. So it could be that it only spawns in the same place.”
“I see.”
I understand what Shuu means. It might not spawn elsewhere, and he must be worried that it might not be possible to spawn another Gadaga the same way. But he might also be thinking that if I hunt in the same spot and it still doesn’t spawn, he could have an excuse to the people waiting.
There’s also the fact that my Luck might not be enough, and I basically lost the lottery.
“Well, there’s no need to worry so much, I’m sure it will work out. You feel it in your nose too, right Shuu?”
“Are you impressed, Shouta?”
“That’s right. Anyway, can you handle the orcs that might come for First Magnitude Star? Kasumi, can you handle orcs too?”
“Yes, leave it to me!”
“Okay. Let’s do it. Everyone else, make sure to keep your distance so you don’t get in the way!”
“Ooh!”
We walk to the settlement Shuu pointed out.
Our first target is different from where Gadaga spawned. My Intuition tells me it could appear here too.
After walking for a bit, we start to see groups of goblins.
“Aira, Enril.”
“Yes, here.”
‘Popo!’
“Let’s go for the settlement up ahead. We’ll take out the goblins along the way, but you two split into left and right and draw more this way. Come back when you have about fifty.
Make sure you don’t take out any orc that gets mixed up in there.”
“Very well.”
‘Popo. Popopo!’
Both jump out, and I turn my sword to the goblins.
“Aki, Maki, Ayane.”
“““Yes!”””
“Let’s do some after lunch exercise. But the orcs are all for Kasumi.”
“Okay!”
“Understood!”
“I’ll do my best!”
Well then, let’s kick some goblins around.
