There’s an uproar when we leave the dungeon. It sounds like they’ve heard we conquered it, and we receive a grandiose reception.
Argo and the others are the main players, as people say they really are A rank adventurers.
People ask what kind of things we got, but we only tell them about the boss. The reason? We’re not on friendly terms with the guild. Argo and the others are united on this.
I feel like there’s uneasiness on the guild’s side too, and they don’t force the issue. They just say they’ll buy them at a high price if we don’t need them, but we also refuse that.
We have money, and we’ll use what we got. And even if we sold, it wouldn’t have to be here.
After being let go by the guild, we check if we’re going to look for an inn. If we go to an expensive one, weird people won’t come after us.
There are quite a few people in this expensive inn, but we can stay here without a problem. Now we can relax and talk.
I take the equipment out of the Item Box, and the jewels from the bag one at a time.
I take a jewel with a luster like a pearl, and… The scenery suddenly changes and I see someone sitting on a rock in front of me.
“A mermaid?”
Is what’s in front of me. And no one else.
“I decided to make contact because I felt a nostalgic presence in you. Who are you?”
That sweet voice threatens to take my consciousness, but I hang on.
I cast Appraisal, and it says her name is Levi and her race is god.
“I’m Sora. I’ve been going around dungeons liberating gods.”
There’s no lie there.
I have liberated a few gods.
“…Can you give me a hand?”
Levi goes into the water surrounding the rock, and swims over to me.
She reaches out with her left hand without leaving the water, so I crouch and grab it.
“I understand. Take me to Eliana. Ah, you can just take that jewel to her.”
She says. Could it be that she can read my mind?
I guess it wouldn’t be impossible for a god.
I nod, and then feel my consciousness fading. I shake my head to clear away that feeling, and see I’m back.
Looking at Hikari and the others makes me feel like time stopped while I was talking to Levi. Or maybe it slowed down.
I place the pearl on a table, and then take out an emerald.
I think about how they were all just thrown together into a bag, but after checking, I see none are damaged.
“So what about splitting the items? We received a pretty favorable treatment in the last dungeon, so we don’t mind if you take everything.”
Argo says something an average adventurer would never say.
Guilford and the others nod.
“I want the magic spear and this.”
I point to the magic spear glacelanser that seems useful for Mia, and the pearl I assume holds the soul of the god Levi.
“Sora, you’re supposed to ask for as many jewels as there are girls.”
Says an exasperated Argo, and the rest of his party nods for some reason.
“W-well, it’s just what I want. What about you?”
I ask the others.
Well, even if I was going for jewels, everyone has their own taste, I say as an excuse to myself.
“Hn, The spear is enough for me.”
“I don’t really want anything either. If Sora picked that, it must be what we need the most.”
Chris gets it.
I have to deliver this to Eliana. I’ll explain later.
“You’re all unselfish too.”
Right back at you, Argo.
In the end, we decide to sell the jewels and split the profit.
Argo and the others are going to use the equipment.
With the talks over for now, we’re told just at the right time that the food is ready.
We have it brought to the room, because while this is an expensive inn, the dining hall is open to people other than guests. That’s not the case for some expensive inns, but it is here.
It was full, so we gave up on it.
“Master, I want more meat.”
The food is as luxurious and tasty as you would expect from an expensive inn, but not enough for Hikari. She thinks it’s tasty, it’s just not enough for her.
Ah, Argo and the others agree.
I also feel like it could be a bit more, but that’s because we moved so much fighting the polyopus.
Although this being an expensive inn means it’s very tasty, especially for the empire.
“What do you want to eat?”
“…All sorts of things.”
Says Hikari clearly after thinking for a bit.
I do as she asks, and bring out various kinds of meat.
Bacon, karaage, hamburger steak, and steak. Skewers and soup with three types, making this look a bit heavy, but Hikari and Argo’s party are happily smiling.
“Do you need alcohol, Argo?”
“I think it’d be safe here but no. We’ll wash it down when we’re back there.”
We’re leaving Avid tomorrow at the soonest, and in a few days at the latest.
We heard in the guild that Ale and Ironhammer left the town.
Ale and Ironhammer is the clan that made their weapons, and some of the few people we had a good relationship with in this town.
With them gone and our objective accomplished, there’s no reason to stay in avid.
