I’m unemployed but I’m exploring the dungeon again today – Chapter 162 – The Abyss XXXIII (Illusion forest XX) – Part one

“Please! Make me strong!”

Number Two asks while bowing.

I hear him, and wonder what he’s on about.

I am, aren’t I? I’m training you so you can survive.

I’ve been doing it ever since he woke up. He’s clinging to the idea of escaping The Abyss with us. If that’s not training, where should I even start?

“That’s not enough. To fulfill my goal… Please!”

Hm, hearing that just makes it harder.

Number Two’s goal is most likely revenge.

That’s why he wants power, right?

The training plan I put together is all about him protecting himself, by withstanding my attacks and dodging magic.

Unfortunately, he’s not as skillful as Nanashi.

He wants power like Nanashi, but has no hope of beating monsters in the forest. Number Two’s skill composition plays a part, and his only offensive skill is Vibration.

It’s a simple ability, what he touches vibrates, but vibrating very fast can destroy someone’s internal organs.

That skill requires direct touch, so it won’t activate unless he gets close. But here in The Abyss, he’ll be killed the moment he does that. Monsters stronger than him will kill him on the spot. Even if he touches them, the difference in power means the effect will be small, and he won’t take them down.

By the way, he tried using it on me at full power, and it turned into a nice massage that took away the day’s exhaustion.

Maybe his Vibration could have the opposite effect and make monsters more active.

That’s a joke, but let’s seriously think about how Number Two can get stronger.

He uses a club. I remember using one too, it was easy to swing, and a good weapon for offense and defense.

But that’s if it’s used against people, it’s a little unreliable against monsters. It would be one thing if it was a metal club or a magic weapon, but a simple club will break if it’s used to hit a monster a few times.

That can be solved with a weapon change.

Some demons used clubs that were magic weapons. Giving him one would easily boost his combat power, but what then? He’s not going to beat monsters by continuing to swing a club. In the end, it all comes down to defending himself.

What about other skills?

He has Vibration, Healing Magic, and Ukemi.

I didn’t ask, but he told me.

Seekers are warned not to easily give away their skills to others, but he said it wouldn’t matter if it was me.

That’s fine, and Healing Magic is a useful skill, but what’s Ukemi? I asked, and he told me it was what it was. When he’s thrown, it mitigates impact.

So he doesn’t have skills suited for offense, and can just take it.

“Hum, why am I buried?”

It’s like… The pipsqueak before. Escape on your own. You can use Physical Strengthening, escape and face me.

“Kyuii!?”

“Hum, why is she buried too?”

Just cause. The pipsqueak’s one is even harder. Try and escape.

I say that, and take some distance from the two heads to start training. Hinata starts calling out, but I ignore it. Even if magic comes flying, I can nullify it from here. So it doesn’t matter how much noise it makes.

I focus on my magic energy.

I’ve been using it to strengthen my body every day, and I don’t know if it’s that or the fact that I have different magic energy in me, but its quality is higher now.

Because of this, I can use Amadachi easier than before. That said, it still takes a tremendous amount of magic energy, and I can’t use it with Limit Break.

I focus it on my right hand, and weave it into a magic circle to create a sword.

That Amadachi is a greatsword.

I’ve tried to change its shape, but in the end, it’s always a greatsword.

I can hear gulping behind me.

I feel eyes that resemble fear, but I’m not turning this power that way, don’t worry.

The Amadachi greatsword has no weight, and it feels less like swinging a sword and more like swinging my arm.

I slowly swing the greatsword of light down, and stop. The power spreads like a ripple, and a moment later, the ground cracks vertically. It keeps going and takes down trees.

This is its power even when I hold it back as much as I can.

I feel the power of Amadachi again, but it’s also proof that I can’t fully control it.

I should eliminate the release of the power and use it like a normal sword.

I raise it again. The next time, I feel the power being released held back a little.

I keep repeating it.

I’d be scared of destroying things around me on the surface, but this is a dungeon. There’s no one here either, and things are restored after a while, so no one will complain. That’s what I’m thinking, but then I feel eyes on me coming from the lake.

I look over there, and see Totaro peeking from the lake looking bothered.

Sorry, I say with a sideways glance, and continue training.

Swing, swing, focus, swing down.

Don’t just watch, hurry up and escape.

I say to the two buried in the ground, who put strength into their whole bodies like they just remembered it. Still, they get distracted after every swing and can’t focus.

I swing again, thinking I’ll do it a little further away next time.

This keeps repeating until I only have some magic energy left.

The next one will be the last. I activate Limit Break to release it to the sky, and Amadachi dissipates.

Well, it’s hard to use Limit Break and maintain Amadachi without that longsword.

I sigh, thinking I’m not there yet, take out a chair from the Storage Space, and sit down. I focus on Magic Energy Circulation, and wait for them to get out.
