Another map variant. How far does this go?

“Aira, I’m done.”

“Puha! U… I could get used to it.”

Kasumi fidgets with her cheeks bright red.

I know how she feels, but I’d get teased if I said that, so let’s change the subject.

“…By the way Kasumi, have you fought any rare monsters in the dungeon back home?”

“Eh, yes. I have.”

“Do you know the conditions to make them spawn?”

“Hm, it’s a source of income, so I shouldn’t tell other adventurers… but I guess it’s fine if it’s you.”

“Thanks.”

“Well, you’re an S rank. I’m sure the second association wouldn’t complain! Hum, there’s a rare monster that spawns naturally if you take out other monsters and wait for two to six hours, a rare monster that spawns if you lead a specific monster to a specific place, and a rare monster that spawns when you offer a specific item. I’ve only faced the first two.”

“Isn’t having three different conditions to spawn them tough?”

“That’s what I hear. I’ve never seen your method, where you take out a specific number of monsters.”

“I see…”

So depending on species, region, and dungeon, the conditions to spawn rare monsters can be completely different?

I thought taking down a hundred was the default, but that type that uses Luck as the standard might be a minor rule of the dungeons I’ve visited. But I also hunted a hundred fish in the 1086 dungeon. Was that just a coincidence?

Apparently the one hundred rule wasn’t very known until I reported it. Maybe when Unlucky Hall first appeared, people tried different methods like the ones Kasumi mentioned… But are Huge Slimes also spawned by leading monsters to certain places like Kasumi said? Although I guess no one tried gathering a hundred.

“Thanks Kasumi, I’ll take that into consideration.”

“Hehehe, I’m glad to help.”

I pat her head, and think about the problem at hand.

First, it’s unlikely that Champion Goblins spawn when enough time has passed. The first two spawned after thirty minutes, but the third one still isn’t there after an hour. Well, Kasumi said there’s one that spawns from two to six hours later, so maybe it could be random.

Then there’s the hundred rule. Unlike how it’s been so far, there was no special smoke, and I can’t definitively rule out the possibility that they appear once a hundred go down. If that’s not the case, I might have to think about adding three hundred more like at the start.

“Okay, let’s go exterminate goblins around the settlements.”

“““““Yes!”””””
